I have not always seen eye to eye with Gilley, especially as an athletic director, but he has done a great job this year with these girls. Keep it up coach!

Congrats to Henry on the win..however..Carroll was the better team at Henry.

Henry should have beaten Carroll co and they would be 3-0 in district play. But great game tonight for HC. Gilley has had a great year so far.

Wow, this year the 31st is going to be wide open. Congrats to Henry County and their new coach on their first district win. Dont count Owen out they will ready to make a statement to other teams in the 31st, and get some revenge on Henry Co. This should make the Class A very interesting as well. Henry County showing that they can get a win against a very good Owen County team cannot be taken lightly.

It was their second district win. HC beat Carroll earlier this week.

Simply put. Owen's PG and SG were terrible!

You are exactly right, and the big men didn't play to well either. You have to give credit to Henry co. They played a great game.

Henry county played a great game, had a great gameplan and executed it greatly. They won all the hustle plays and grabbed rebounds against Owens bigs. I thought OC big men didn't play good at all, especially Shelton. He is just a big body that takes up space, made a few free throws and that's about all he did. OC had the size advantage over Henry, but they didn't use that to their advantage. Pete Baldwin had a great game and he was very impressive making clutch free throws and getting rebounds over the big men. Just like last year when Henry and Owen played, Pete Baldwin dominated the big men. Great game HC!

Great game tonight! HC has really surprised me this year, and especially tonight. I thought they would be totally outmatched against CC, but that wasn't the case. They just came up a little short. Had bad turnovers and couldn't get some shots to fall. As the posters above said, great night of shooting 3's!

Yes ,Williams is a good player but not D1 yet.

Owen has 6'8 6'6 6'5

Colligan was 5th or 6th in the state at field goal percentage.

Shelton has good post play and can hit the Trey.

Williams is a great offensive player around the basket.

 

In my opinion no team can match up with their bigs, but where Owen is going to get beat is at guard.

I agree Owen has the best height in the region, but the quality of them isn't to great. I have never been impressed with Shelton, and I have seen him play at least 5 times. Always seems like smaller kids aren't affected by his height, like they are much stronger than he is. Also think he is very soft for being as tall as he is. He needs to get a lot stronger this year if they want to compete for the region. I believe Colligan is the much better player than he is.

Henry Co. has some good players this year, their only problem is they don't have much height or bench. The starters will have to play almost the entire game if they want to win. Wont go much further than 7-8 players deep. Could possibly be moving an 8th grader up to play varsity. He is going to be one of the best players in the region when he gets in high school.

Great win for H.C. But you better have your A game for Anderson!

I don't see how people are picking against Henry Co. Their defense is great and their offense is getting better every week and I look for them to be better even more so this week. Henry wins this game 42-13. Good luck to both teams!

Henry needs to step their offense up for this game and I know they will. Their defense will win this game for them with another shut out over T.C. H.C. wins this game 20-0. Go Cats!

Pike Co. Central jumped out on H.C. early in this game and held the lead going into halftime. H.C. came out of halftime pumped up and ready to win the game and they did. Scored 20 unanswered points. There were a lot of dropped balls and dropped passes that should have been interceptions by H.C., but they came out with the well deserved win. Great job H.C. Now get ready for South next week boys.

Henry county by as much as they want.

Coach Jones for CC has done a great job with his boys and they have had a great season. He is a great coach and should win the coach of the year for the 8th region. With that being said, CC has a shot at winning the region, but the only problem will be pitching for them. Since Anderson and Shelby haven't pitched their aces yet, they could be in the finals. That would be a great rematch for these two teams. Good luck to CC against Shelby co.

CC has to get by Henry Co. before they even think about winning the region. That is going to be very tough because they are playing Henry for the 4th time this season. But i agree with a previous poster, that Anderson Co. is going to be favored for the regional title, but it would be great if a smaller team won.

Who is going to get this head coaching job? I have heard several coaches names thrown around, but not sure who will get it.

How are the teams going to be seeded since they are all 3-3? Will there be a tie-break of some kind?

If I'm not mistaken, the Shelby Valley coach got his first coaching job at Henry County.

Shelby Valley's coach was never a coach at Henry County. He may be from this area, but he has never been a coach here.
