My apologies Warrior_69, I just read the wording of your post wrong. Although I agree SW looked flat to end the second quarter, McCreary did not look to be playing to their full extent either. But, these two teams will meet again twice, and we will get more looks at them head-to-head.

Horrible loss? McCreary Central is a nice basketball team.
-
After watching them during the summer, McCreary Central has something special in the 3 punch with Watts, Roark, and Wright. These players have something special when playing together. Watts and Roark are two of the better players in the region. Wright is a smart pointguard, and is also a scoring pointguard. Never really saw this part of his game until this summer, i guess its time for him to step up with the loss of Swiger. Look for these 3 to have a breakout year for the Raiders.

I don't see how they could overlook 4 players from the same AAU team transferring to one of the biggest basketball schools in the state in the same year. Anyone could find an excuse to use, but a coincedince? i think not...I believe Euton's case makes sense. But Jackson and Flannery following? I'm not convinced.

Scott Co. will still be good, yes, but not what they were. Holmes' upcoming team is looking very good. With Housley, Riley, Pittman and the Johnson brothers, this will be a team to beat. I wouldn't be surprised if they take region for the 3rd straight year and make yet another run at the state title...

I think the front runners for the region so far are McCreary, Boyle, and West. McCreary has had a good summer so far, going 7-1 at the Georgetown camp with wins over Henry Clay, Montegomery County, Lincoln Co. (WV), and Louisville Valley. I know it is a little early and its only summer ball, but McCreary beat Wayne by 31 points in a game last week. I've also heard good things about Boyle returning Aumiller.
-
What about teams as a whole? Has anyone seen anything they like so far with summer schedules starting up?
-
Wright will be a junior.
Let's just hope these boys can get the Raiders out of this "slump" they seem to be in when post season comes around.
-
Two juniors and two sophomores? You named three sophomores and a freshman on the probable starters for next season.

McCreary will have it turned around. Seemed as if Williamsburg just couldn't miss at times. The Raiders shot 16% from three point land, which isn't like them at all.
-
Les, you still have no respect after going 3-0 in the 13th, when you picked all 3 to beat the Raiders? wow.

Does Lincoln start any juniors?

Never said that was the reason for a loss, just didn't take too kindly to anyone saying it was called fair. I was there, had McCreary been called for the type of fouls the Jumpers were called for, several players would have fouled out for MC and the foul calls would not have been so even. The Jumpers still are having some problems with turnovers and rebounds and that cost them the game but they looked much better last night. That's a positive.
The game was called even both ways, Somerset just couldn't match the physical play. Surprised you are complaining about the fouls when they are so evenly matched.
-
its basketball, not tag. Somerset couldn't match the physical play of McCreary, and its just something the raiders are known for. They play physical game in and game out, and IMO makes up for the inside game.

Really thought Lincoln would snatch this one. How did Young play?
