  1. Maybe someone can help me with this. LCA started football in 2000 and for the first three years, they were horrible. Then comes in Rains and within three years, they’re beating Beechwood. Having seen LCA’s Middle school football program over the past few years, it’s hard for me to believe those teams in which I saw would be good enough so early to play with the big boys in the state. ;) Now, they’re one of the best programs in Class A. All of this has happen in a matter of five years. Their middle school teams were good but they weren’t great … so that leads to the question … how many of those kids that are on the squad now, played Middle School football at LCA? In college, a coach normally build his football program with junior college players and once those players got settled in, then he would build around them. What did LCA do to build their program so quickly? (I’m not buying the weight room thing :irked:) - A lot of us would like to know what they did to get their program to were it is today, so maybe some of those programs can do the same things LCA did and just maybe one day, they to can compete against the elite each year. This is just a thought and I’m not accusing anyone of anything! :thumb:

The major skill position players went to middle school at LCA, as did many of the other players on the football team. Most of these allegations deal with players that attended LCA in the past several years - just for a little behind the scenes info.

  2. LCA also lost a player to Tates Creek a couple years ago and helped to ensure that he gained elgibility there. This was also due to academics.

Previous accusations about the ICE AAU team being used as a recruiting tool for LCA are foolish. The ICE 15U team has varsity and JV players for 4 other local high schools. At the time of the decision by the Scott Co. player, 2 of the 9 players were from LCA. 6 of the 9 were at public schools and one Sayre player. Please be well informed before falsely accusing.

Quality coaching, positive environment and the love of God go a lot farther than you all give them credit sometimes.

  3. Interesting about not thinking it goes on in basketball, I guess you missed the new 6'1 Freshman Transfer from Scott County that came in this year, after he was "encouraged" to join the AAU Lexington Ice which is full of predominatley Lexington Christian Kids, would be interesting to see who funds that AAU team as well and where they practice, wonder if they practice at LCA?? I guess everyone is obvlious to that as well.....

LCA has nothing to do with the ICE. The ICE do not practice at LCA, and are funded only by parents, and do not receive a penny from LCA.
