Confused... Stats show she had 147 points her sophmore year, 274 points her junior year, and so far her senior year she has 220. Does anyone know what she had her freshman year? This is clearly not 1000 :( Do schools verify this before they present? Just wondering!

Not too sure you know what you are talking about - what "key" players are his responsibility? He hasn't been involved with this group of girls' for years if ever for some of them. The congrats goes to the coaches and staff and ultimately to the girls'. They played their hearts out this entire tournament. They showed exactly what hard work and desire can do. The glory is theirs to enjoy - not everyone else who wants a part of it. Best of luck Ladycats!!!!

Might be a deadhorse, but most know that the only way Walton became good is the influx of players that have transferred into Walton for whatever reason anyone wants to say. If not for that, they would be average at best. Dixon would still be a very good player, but not having guards that can shoot the ball or another big that handles the ball well to feed her the ball would make her points harder to come by.

Does it really matter how Walton became a good team The fact is they are a good team and Dixon is an outstanding player. She is highly deserving of any and all recognition and awards that she has received. It sounds to me like there is quite a bit of jealousy on your part as you continue to beat this "deadhorse."

I would be very surprised if Sandlin and Judy are getting D-1 attention. When we played Walton friday night Sandlin is not even a starter. This must mean Walton has atleast 6 D-1 players, really? We beat Walton by 13, and they have with that many D-1 players? Dixon is by far the best player Walton has, and I was told she is going to Thomas More College with Chelsea. I will say that Judy has came a long way and did look very solid. She is a very big girl and may be the only other girl Walton has that could play above D-3 if she continues to improve. Not to knock any of the other players, just my opinion.

Have to say I agree totally with this.

Shelby should be their starting point guard. She is a true point and with the others they are going to sturggle against the better teams. Just because she is a freshman doesn't mean that she can't do the job.

Absolutely agree - she did a great job!

From an SK Lady's Fan I say congrats WV. What a great game. Could have only been better if it was a dbl header so we could have seen the Boone - Ryle game with it.

I support the coach and know that things go on behind the scenes that people aren't aware of. However, what justification can a coach give for benching his two best players on their biggest stage of the year? Walton didn't have a chance of winning without them and they didn't. The All A State title is what most of the small schools dream of winning, it is their championship. The girls work hard to try to accomplish this and it is not fair to them to not even give them a chance because the coach is trying to prove a point or send a message. I'm just confused about why such a drastic move was made during such a critical game. Again, hopefully they will rebound and finish strong.

Absolutely agree!!! It's very sad that the coach seemed to give up on his team in the third quarter even though they were struggling. They never had a chance after half time. I know they were not playing their best but his decisions did not help the situation one bit either. Great job to the girls' anyways!

I believe Dixon had 16 not 14.

It was Dixon's smothering defense that held Towles to only 2 points in the game. Towles had 4 of her fouls against Dixon. Awesome job !!!

Dixon had an "off" game tonight.

There is no doubt, the 8th Region is loaded with "young" talent. How would you like to have a team that consisted of: Gayhart at the point (9th), Devine at the two guard (9th), with Sandlin (8th) & Wilhoit (10th) playing the three,four, with Hill (10th) at the five. I would pay good money to see that team play together. All those kids have the potential to play at the next level, if that is their hearts desire. "THOSE FIVE ARE AMAZING TO WATCH" especially Sandlin who is only 12 years old, what a future for the 8th region.
