The fact that Trinity has 1,300 males helps in football but not basketball. If student numbers meant anything, then why is Trinity making it's first trip to the elite eight, final four and championship game since it started basketball in 1956. A good coach and good players is the reason and not school population,.
Certainly doesn't hurt, I'm from an class A school that hasn't been to a state tourny since the 40s.

This is my final response on the issue. I was not being negative, I want the subs (including Fite) on the floor. The subs play hard and have earned some playing time at least in my eyes. I believe you ones responding and the bracken coaches are the ones that are being negative and don't think they are good enough to play.:isurrender:

"Fite was the worst sub of the night" isn't being negative?
Taken out of context, meant I thought the other 2 subs did a better job nothing more. Talk about people looking for just the negative, look in the mirror. I would delete the post to satisfy you if I could figure out how.

Nope....RP is spot on.
Looks like, Blackbear, you're seeing the situation differently because people tend to see what they want to see. Example: want to see negative= seeing negative.
Sorry, could you show me where I was being negative? I thought the subs should have been on the floor, RP is the one that was being negative about them.:sssh: Funny how some of you stick together. I'm sure I'd see your fake name without a face talking about softball also. LOL:walk:

Backcourt reserves made a couple of costly turnovers in the first half when Augusta implemented a full court press. I like those kids a lot, but they just weren't capable of dealing with the Augusta pressure as Cummins & Crawford were.
Fite was decent. He's athletic, but very raw. Augusta rallied in the first half when Bracken's big men got hampered with fouls.
WOW, sorry we must have been at different games, and Fite was the worst sub of the night, but played the most minutes. Talked to a lot of people since the game and your the only one with this story to tell.

Bracken played with more energy than earlier in the season. Played extremely well in the 1st half using some bench. There was no substitutions made the 2nd half which in many eyes cost them the game. Not being negative, being realistic.

What an epic battle it was.

Great Draws if your a Bracken Co fan.
Think SP is the only school not happy with the draw. Bracken's only chance was with this draw, now let's see if they are ready for the match-up. If Bracken is not anymore prepared than the last few games, it will be a long night for the Bracken faithful.

Let me tell you where we're at: We're exactly where we were last year--when we finished 17-11. And we're exactly where we were the year before--when we finished 19-12. We're standing beside our coach, but most importantly, our team.
The question is: Where were you those two years? Or do you just come out of the woodwork (see: Join Date Dec 2011...see: 70% of posting content having something derogatory to say about Coach Persinger and/or the Polar Bears) when the team is struggling, or not enjoying the success as it had in the past?
Yeah...that's what I thought.
Been around a long time, let my script run out by accident and rejoined, not that I owe you an explanation. I personally don't look at wins and loses, just where the program seems to be heading. Watched a lot of Bracken teams that played really hard and earned playing time, but lost more games than they won. Right now it appears to me (and I know several others) that playing time is not earned but appointed. Ask the question sometime and I bet the staff can tell you who will be starting 3 yrs from now and the order others will come off the bench. Been watching Bracken play for well over 15 yrs and all I ever expected was for the players to play hard and to the best of their ability and to be rewarded for such and not given playing time based upon predeterminations.:sssh:

Where's all the big Persinger supporters at with excuses. When will everyone's eyes open and see that a lot of players were ran off that could have helped this team. Crawford is the only starter that plays hard at all, no one puts out much effort because they know they won't come out of the game unless they get in foul trouble. Also heard that 3 of the bench players that everyone said was no good outscored 4 of the 5 starters. Maybe they could get a few more Parents on the bench to help out.

Augusta
I agree, if you don't mind only seeing 2/3 of the game.

Always good to get that 1st win out of the way.

See post #21 for your answer.
Don't buy that, it started just as soon as the head coaches job was announced. Heard to many past players that said they would have quit if they had the present coaching staff.
-
Can't understand this comment on unhappy faithfuls, in the two years he has been their he has already won more games than the previous four coaches did. McKinney,3 years 14-58, Hammonds 3 years 34-37, Fite 2 years 21-36, Breeze 1 year 9-20, Persinger 2 years and in 3rd is 39-26.
How many players has Persinger ran off, either to another school or just quit? Your exactly right on the win/loss record, but who have that beat that they shouldn't have? The schedule seems to get weaker and weaker every year.

Talked to a couple of Bracken's faithful today, sounds like a lot of people not happy with what's happening in Brooksville.

Anyone have any word on the Bracken-Augusta game?

RRRREEEEAAAALLLYYY? (Jim Carey, Ace Venturra voice)
YES

Hinson will out coach Bracken for a very slim margin of victory.
-
Nice try, Mason knew they were out of timeouts. Coach O'Hearn called the timeout to talk to his players. At that point of the game those FT made no difference.
Why was he granted the timeout then and not immediately given the T?
-
Does anyone know why the Hamilton kid(Dwayne, I believe) minutes have dwindled some what over the past several weeks?, he's about 6 inches taller than his backup(Florer) and has more offensive and defensive game from what I have seen in 12-14 games this year. After watching the JV game last night for the first time, is Bracken County's JV that bad? I mean that was crickets chirping bad. No defense, no ball control or ball handling, no shooters.
Those JV players used to be pretty good, then the system took over.

In a lot of cases, bigger schools in a district w/ smaller schools don't want to have to schedule two yearly games per small school. Take Mason County, for instance. They're in a district with three other small schools (Bracken, Augusta, St. Patrick) & I'm assuming they don't want to tie up six of their games each year with them.
It works the other way too, I'm sure, with smaller schools not wanting to have to play the top team in the district year in and year out.
For me, I'm in favor of seeding districts, simply because I place a bigger emphasis on the regional tournament. I want to see the best teams playing in the regional as opposed to the first round of the district.
In Mason's case I would bet they would still elect not to play the other three schools, which would put them as the last seed in that district. All that would accomplish would be that the second best team in the district would have little to no chance of making the Regional.

There will be at least one open seat.
Don't have much confidence in Brossart do you.:sssh:

Disagree, think it's brought up about every year at this time, just like private vs public is during the All A tourny.
