  1. Would except him to hit third this this season but it's Coach Krumps call and he will do whats best for the team. I have said all along my lineup would be

Seimer 2b Very good glove, range and has speed

Lafever LF The kid can play anywhere, and I want seniors in my outfield

Maile C Big question will it be 3 POY in a row

Darner RF Best clutch hitter on the team IMO

Isler 1b First full year truly back from Tommy John

Nutini CF The best CF in NKy

Klein 3b Great kid good hitter good fielder, pray to God he is fine as his health is so much more important than baseball

Holocher SS Much improved over the summer! Just watch and you will see

Van Sant DH Very, very good number 9 hitter with very good speed

If Shover does play I move Mitch into that leadoff spot and he starts at 2b. If Klein can't play this season then??????

I cant see Seimer being in the batting order at all, his glove is phenomenal, but I'm not sure the bat is there yet. I think Nutini will be in the lead off spot, and someone else, probably another junior, besides Seimer will be batting towards the bottom of the lineup somewhere.

  2. Yeah I have been doing it since freshman year in high school. I started on the skoal apple and berry and peach and those flavors, and now im a can of grizzly straight on a school day and two on the weekends. A friendly tip for fellow dippers.. try a dip of grizzly natural in the morning on the way to work or school, you buzz like the first dip you ever had!

  3. Dylan Cottingham may be behind the plate on the varsity level every now and then to give Maile's knees a break, but he will surely be DH'd for, because honestly....the bat just isn't there yet. Other then him I can't see a sophomores even sniffing varsity time for The Colonels. The Junior class at Cov Cath is extremely talented, but often get overshadowed by the players in the grade in front of them, and with good reason. There are too many good juniors (Warning, Seimer, Martin, Schlagbaum, Stayton) to give any sophmore a legitimate chance at playing time.

  4. Next years starting QB is most likely not Troy Timmerman. It will probably be Brayden Erpenbeck. He has been Quarterbacking the JV squad this year, and has looked extremely impressive. He plays a little bit of linebacker on the varsity level as well. He has great size, about 6'3 210, and good mobility, he had over 100 yards and two scores against Beechwood in the JV game.....on just three carries. He also has a pretty solid arm and seems to be a good leader, he should be starting over Matt Young this year, in my opinion.

  5. In the midst of a disappointing varsity season, the JV Colonels seem to be a bright spot. They have one every game but their first, a close loss to LaSalle, and seem to be dominating Northern Kentucky teams, is the program heading in the right direction the next two years?

  6. Many people think Cobb should be the starting QB the rest of this year, and i agree, but where do you think he projects in the future? UK has two highly touted quarter back prospects coming in next year, and Cobb has proved himself a dangerous receiver, and was projected as a DB out of high school if I'm not mistaken.

  7. His name is Troy Timmerman. He's about 6''1 or 6''2 and I'd say somewhere close to 190 or 195. He's a big kid and runs fairly fast. He has a ton of potential to be a star in Northern Kentucky.

He weighs more in the 215 area, He is an outstanding athlete. He plays Friday nights at linebacker, and Saturday mornings at QB with the JV team. And this morning he scored on about a 7 yard QB sneak in overtime to give the JV Colonels the win.

  8. One of the biggest factors in this game was the fact that CovCath was in better shape than NewCath. I know a lot of the Breds played both ways but VanSant, Frisch, and Connaughton played both ways as well and continued to make plays when they were tired.

Overall this was a great game for both teams. CovCath finally played at the level they are capable and NewCath learned what they can do well and need to improve on. In my perfect world both teams would finish 14 and 1.

  9. Replacing Siemer with LaFever would still be perfect to me because I still believe even though LaFever might be a better hitter, he is not great by any means and even if his job was to bunt, it was still a sacrafice. LaFever struggles to hit the ball as does Siemer but Siemer to me is just a much more solid choice!

  10. You have to remember LaFever's job is to bunt in the lineup. If Siemer was to take the 2nd base spot, the fielding % would improve but Seimer would not hit above .250 IMO. This summer for the KY Kings I believe he struggled to hit .200. Although maybe improving in on the D, I cannot see him contributing to the Colonels lineup offensively.

LaFever is head and shoulders above Seimer in the batters box.

  12. Did Tate catch any balls today? Looks like the kids might get to practice on the new field soon and get off that cow pasture. LOL

Not a bad start playing to a draw with CCH, who is supposed to be decent this year. Highlands will be the true test opening night.

He was on the sidelines with his leg in a boot. What did he do?

  13. TOG, I really support your idea to put Siemer at 2nd and maybe play LaFever in the outfield or maybe have him just DH so he can bunt when the time is needed. I think overall Siemer would work out better for the colonels and make the team deeper with LaFever coming off of the bench when needed

  14. Hitting will not be a weakness for CovCath this season, nor will it be a lack of scoring runs, what the trouble just be might be is "D". Logan gives you great range and allows Krumps to put a senior who is a good baseball player in Left Field. Two of the Pitchers won't be DH for (Ice/Nutini) so you could if you want DH for Siemer. As I said I move RD to right and Klein to 3rd and that gives you a rather strong outfield, with either Nutini or VanSant in CF.

TOG you do realize your basically saying Siemer will take a returning starters spot. Or are you saying Siemer will be a spot starter?
