Williamsburg's Ryan Moses signed to play football for Mt. Union Ohio today. Ryan is a 6' 3" 180 QB. He was a three year starter who had 9000 yds passing and 92 passing tds in his career.

Congrats and good luck at Union. Can't wait to watch him play in college.

Williamsburg's Ryan Moses Sr. QB won the Wendy's High School Heisman for Kentucky. He has a 4.0 GPA and 30 ACT. He had almost 9000 yards passing with 92 TDs and 2200 yards rushing with 31 TDs for his career. He is in the running to be one of the 12 national finalists.

Williamsburg was lucky
Williamsburg has had it's fair share of bad luck this season. It was nice to see lady luck on Williamsburg's side once this year. It was a great football game to watch.
-
Coach Elam had his team ready to play. I think it was the best Pineville team I've seen in years. It was one of the funnest high school games I've every seen. It was a great night for football. I hope # 3 from Pineville is ok.

Ryan Moses set the career passing yardage record (8084) Friday vs Clinton Co. He broke Andy Greer's record of 7797.

I don't think this game is for the district championship for Williamsburg. I think it is for Campbellsville. Williamsburg still has to play Lynn Camp at LC.

Some of the Burg's younger players will get better with time this season. They have a murderer's row of a schedule coming up. I thought the last touchdown with less than 2 minutes left wasn't necessary, but that is football. I wish those young men the best this season, and best of luck to the coaches...good folks all the way around.
The score was 30 - 0 with 6:05 left in the game. Williamsburg subed down on special teams, Jellico ran the kickoff back. Jellico onside kicks and Williamsburg's return team ran into each other and Jellico recovers. Jellico takes the ball and scores in a few plays (Williamsburg had subed down as much as they could, none left healthy to put in the game). Williamsburg gets the ball after another Jellico onside kick and runs the clock out scoring with 1:14 left. I don't think it was anything but the coach trying to make sure Jellico did not get the ball back with time to score and try a onside kick. You have seen Coach Herron take a knee in the first half and you personally have heard him tell people that he will not run the score up. I know he considers you and Coach Oaks a friend and would not disrespect those friendships.

Jordan Hughett LB 6'1" 210 signed with The U. of the Cumberlands Friday.

What is final score?

4A Bell Co, Knox Central, Rockcastle Co, Madison Southern, McCreay Co. is a tough one.
1A Raceland, LCA, Fairview, Paris, Nicholas Co. is a very tough district.

Williamsburg must replace the big boys. Rollins, Phillips and Hopkins were good football players. Brock and Lawson's big play ability will also be sorely missed. I expect Barton to have a break out year. The Burg should play McCreary year in and year out. It makes since for both because of their proximity.
Corbin vs Whitley, Whitley vs Williamsburg, Corbin vs Lynn Camp, Bell vs Middlesboro, Knox Central vs Lynn Camp, Harlan City vs Harlan County, I'm not saying these games should be played but these schools are close to each other. Sometimes as fans we don't get everything we want.

Travis probably does not want to say because if he does (and he is going to play) Coach P will not be happy. He tends to penalize football players. He refuses to use most of them even if they could help him out. (Notice I said most, he told Aaron Manns if he played football he would lose his starting spot ---- he couldn't keep that up for long though, cause he needed him too bad.)
Very sad if true!

I am not sure I agree with you. KC lost most of what made them so tough last year. As stated in other posts their QB was the heart and soul of their team. MC didn't lose any skilled players and may have the best O-line they ever had. I just can't see where KC is any better more the less "VASTLY". I know as many others do that W-burg had 3 dates to fill and had them posted on the web, MC tried to play two of those dates but WB refused. Like I have posted earlier, I have many friends who work at W-burg and one use to coach and he told me the feeling in the burg is they would rather lose to anyone by 100 than lose to MC by 1. Bottom line they didn't want to play and that is their option. MC and their fans are upset they ran like they did and that is their option. KC is a tough game for anyone as Coach Mills has built a very strong program and will definately be a tough game for WB. We will let the 2009 season tell us if it was a step up or not! :ylsuper:
Williamsburg doesn't want to lose to anyone. We do not sit around and discuss who we would rather lose too. We want to win, not lose close. Who ever told you that was said is dead wrong. I know it is hard to believe but we do not discuss McCreary football. We spend our time getting ready to try to win a District Championship. I feel our non district schedule shows that we are not running from anyone. I know you are going to say something about week 0 , but that was discussed in an earlier post and by the way that team has beaten Williamsburg before unlike someone.

Wayne will be good next year, great staff. They have "The Fever", Coach John LaFevers running the defense.

I think Bath will be fine. They have a good running back and play very phyiscal.

IMO, Rollins is going to be the toughest one to replace.
Lawson was a hoss, but Rollins was the difference in many games.
Tyler Rollins is one of the best, we've ever had!

I loved the atmosphere at the spring game. The players excitement and fan support was awesome. You got to love football in March.

Williamsburg and McCreay never discussed playing week 0. Williamsburg was going to scrimmage Jellico August 21 week 0(just like 2008 season). The state decided to let teams paly a game week zero and have and off week, both coaches kept their verbal agreement to August 21. It is now a game instead of a scrimmage. If the state had not changed the rules it would be scrimmage. Williamsburg and McCreary did discuss week 2 through e-mail, but Williamsburg had already signed a contract with Harlan. If you have any further questions about Williamsburg's schedule, I will be glad to answer them in this forum or private message.
