Major health concern. One of those situations where football is a privlege and not a right. If found to be true the school should not only expel the kid, the young man should be taken to court. This is a situation that can't be taken lightly.

My next question, what kind of person does that?

I was part of a game once when a player on the losing team spit in his hand and shook a player's hand from the other team. It led to a 15-20 minute brawl that involved players, coaches, parents and random joe's out of the stands. 1993 Paintsville at Magoffin County...

When did the post-game handshake evolve into the single line walk through?

In the "old days" when I played you shook hands with a few guys after the game but we never got in a line.

Is that a soccer influence?

Years ago, during a high school game, I was lined up at tight end and this LB kept coming up on me and gave me a forearm shiver to the noggin which was knocking me silly. It sounded weird when he hit me. The ref stopped the game and had the player unrap his arm and hand pads to find he had brass knuckles on both hands. When he got tossed the crowd erupted and the game was halted. That was right before they tipped one of our busses over.

Sportsmanship is all but dead it seems.

When I played, I was actually told not to shake hands after the game. Coach always said whoever loses, they sure don't want to shake hands with the other team so it be best just to get the hell off the field as fast as possible. It starts at the top. Of course, I would personnaly rather not shake hands than get stuck with a tack.

Was at a game a couple years ago, where the home team had won, but rather than get in line (like the visitors/losers had done), the coach gathered everybody in a big huddle...and stayed that way for an uncomfortable amount of time. It was almost like they deliberately wanted to "shun" the other team. You could see the faces of the visiting players (many of whom had already taken their helmets off) almost expressing "what the ...."?

Finally, the home team broke the huddle and came over and got in line and shook hands. I talked to one of the assistant coaches afterwards, and he said that came from the head coach, who was apparently upset by the way they were treated the year before at the visitor's home field. Told him I thought it was classless, and he just nodded and agreed...but, said it came from the top.

Needless to say, I don't think those two have played each other again since then.

This is what is wrong with kids nowadays. If I had done this my coach would have taken matters into his own hands, if I was still on the team. And then when I finished I would have had to answered to my parents. Some kids have no respect.
