day tripper
Interesting hire. Good luck CAL. Very interesting indeed. What is his coaching resume? Anyone?
Dark Horse78
Had no idea he was a coach.
oldschool35
This is his first coaching job I think.
oldonetechnique
Coaching resume reads like this...........Applied for CAL job, Interviewed, Accepted!!!! That is under his coaching experience section~!
westsider
Wasn't LeFors on the staff at Kentucky Country Day, at least in some capacity?
Dark Horse78
If this is his first coaching job, this could get ugly quick. I hope he does well, but I would say odds are stacked against him.
CoachBuckett
I think he will do a great job. The guys knows how to play the game. He has worked some camps and good at teaching kids. I wouldn't worry to much. BTW he is taking over at CAL..........Not the Green Bay Packers.
Dark Horse78
The coaching part isn't where I would be concerned. You do very little actual coaching as a head coach....I would be more concerned about ALL the other responsibilities that encompass the position. GameofLife
CAL is a good institution and he will have the support he needs. They certainly aren't going to set him up to fail.
CoachJ
You do very little actual coaching as a head coach.... I would say "actual coaching" makes up a much lower PERCENTAGE of things you do when you're a head coach, but trust me -- especially at a small school -- there's still a LOT of 'actual coaching' a head coach does. In the NFL this may not be true, but I'm pretty sure Dale Mueller, Bob Beatty, Mike Glaser, etc. do a LOT of 'actual coaching' every single day in practice...and they are blessed with GREAT assistants who know their football, many of whom would probably be good head coaches themselves. Good luck to Coach LeFors. CAL has a lot of potential, and Stefan certainly proved at UofL he had what it took to overcome expectations. Great players do not always great coaches make (I would almost argue the opposite is true), but let's hope this is an exception to the rule. DYLANDOLL
I can see no negatives for CAL in this situation.
Jim Schue
Wasn't LeFors on the staff at Kentucky Country Day, at least in some capacity? I believe that is correct. Unless that wasn't him I saw at their games in recent years.
