Could someone fix a new alignment based on ability of schools and their past. For example some teams will never be any good or able to compete at a high level, while some Highlands, some Louisville schools can.

At least fix an alignment that is competitive for all. I mean does Berea ever stand a chance vs Beechwood or Mayfield.

Well, in the extremely unlikely event this would ever be considered, then I hope the KHSAA just goes ahead and lumps everybody in together, like in basketball. Heck, in the alignment described above, you would actually be rewarding big schools with bad football programs by allowing them to potentially play small schools for state titles. To me, that would be like letting a 30 year-old guy compete in a race against elderly men... even if the 30 year-old guy sucks at running, he's still gonna be able to outrun an 80 year-old!!!

 

In football, any classification system will need to be based upon school size and geography, IMO.

You are right, it would never be considered. BUT can we have a little fun and see what it could look like. I mean does a team who never has a chance deserve a chance. Yes we all know Highlands would win every class, but some teams never get a chance at success based on population, tradition, geography, youth league underdevelopment. We all cant be like the mighty Bluebirds.

 

Does anyone know the records of each team for the last 10 years, as in who has won the least.

I bet there are some 80 yr olds who can outrun a few 30 yr olds.
