The Good: CovCath had 13 hits and played a solid game to beat the Rams at Joyce Park. Badin was 16-7 overall and 10-4 in the always tough GCL before this game so it was a very good victory, especially playing over the River in Ohio, where for whatever reason, the men in blue seem not to like Kentucky teams.

 

Solid game by Logan Siemer as Log had 6 rbi's on 3 hits and a walk, while scoring 2 runs himself. Neil Martin had a hit scored 3 runs, had a single, a hpb, a walk and a sac bunt. Chris Gerwe started and pitched well giving up 4 runs, all earned with some questionable calls in the field to help Badin along. Chris also went 2 for 4 and scored 2 runs.

 

The Bad and Ugly: Well CovCath ran the bases well and only left 7 men on base, so I was happy tonight. BTW I had to give CovCath an error tonight but the official scorer who also ran the score board didn't quite see it that way, as on a DP play ball that the man in blue call the runner out but then called the runner safe when Siemer tried to throw the ball to first. They gave the runner a hit. :confused:

Pee Wee's Place Offensive play of the game: CovCath top of the second. Score is CovCath 1 Badin 0. Stayon gets a base hit and goes to second on a PB but Gerwe goes U-9 and moves Stayton on the play. Man on third, one out. Martin hits a single to drive in Stayton for the second CovCath run and with 1 out CovCath has a runner on first. Schlagbaum earns himself a Nutini (hbp) so now with only one out CovCath has runners on 1st and 2nd and Reese is up. Reese walks to load the bases and Siemer on the first pitch drives in Martin and Schlagbaum for the third and fourth runs of the game and motors to second on the throw home. Warning then drives home Siemer to score the 4th run of the inning to make the score at the end of the CovCath top of the second CovCath 5 Badin 0

 

BAWAC Inc. Defensive play of the game: Nothing outstanding tonight but I have to give a nod to Adam Warning in the outfield as the sun in Right tonight was brutal.
