This 7th-region battle was surprisingly lopsided as the Lady Centurions downed the Lady Rockets at Assumption.

 

CAL raced out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back, leading 30-9 at halftime as Clair Buchanan hit five 3-pointers in the 1st half. When they shut her down in the 2nd half, the lane opened for Antonita Slaughter for a total of 16 points. The Lady Rockets never really fired, though they made a brief run in the 3rd quarter. CAL's Hannah Bowman suffered an injury and her status is yet to be determined.

 

Next up for the Lady Centurions...Lexington Catholic tomorrow night (Feb. 7).

Assumption's next game is also against LexCath on Feb. 11.

The Ladies from CAL played a great game last night. They showed great range and accuracy in shooting the three pointers. Furthermore, they played great defense on the lady Rockets.

 

For their Fantastic play last night the Lady Rockets were rewarded with practice this morning. Saturday is generally their one day off a week. Early returns indicate the practice will be long and will involve a lot of defense, shooting and running.
