LCA 10 CovCath 5 in the Louisville Invitational Tournament.

The game started prior to what I was told the starting time was, so I only got to see the last inning.

Was told that without the five errors from the CovCath infielders, Isler from CovCath wins this game 5-4, but with such little support from the infield, a good pitching effort was wasted. Isler went six innings and Niehaus came in to pitch the seventh.

Again only saw the last inning, so if my information is incorrect, then please don't blame Theoldguy

Wow, that just seems to be a recurring theme with CCH these days. Everyone in the 9th seems to be fighting various issues (i.e., Ryle- hitting; Boone - pitching; Beech - consistency; etc..), but infield defense woes certainly appear to be CCH's soft spot.

Put Klein there - the boy can do just about anything!! :thumb:

He came in to catch, when Maile got hit in the mouth while stealing third, in the Male game and was the starting catcher in the West Jessamine game and went 3-3 (double) 1 walk and scored a run.

He's done a fair amount of catching in the past during SWOL summer ball and did a very nice job. Very, very few passed balls and though he didn't have a rocket arm, he made up for it with an unusually quick release. Plus, he's just a bright kid - not a bad trait for someone behind the plate.
