From the article....The committee's vote left the future of the measure unclear. The deficient vote doesn't necessarily mean the end of Proposal 2, which would first apply to students who enter seventh grade in the 2008-09 school year. It still faces review from House-Senate education committee next month, and Gov. Ernie Fletcher may also get involved.

If the co-chair used that kind of language, then most likely all six committee members felt that strongly as well. If Gov. Fletcher tries to use this issue for political gain before the election, which way will he go? I'd suggest that discretion might be the better part of valor for him - not that this issue should necessarily sway one's vote. Obviously, Kentucky has bigger problems.
