Theoldguy
Internet Radio feed of the Connie Mark World Series from New Mexico ....and brackets for the games. Just click on the link. The World Series starts this Friday August 3rd and Midland flies out of CVG on Thursday the 2nd. Midland beat the Professional Baseball Academy in today championship game at the Midland Complex by a score of 11-1 (5 innings). I shouldn't use the word beat, as the PBA team was completely outmatched by the Redskins. Seems in the Connie Mack WS regional qualifier the Midland Redskins gave up a total of 1 earned run in playing a total of five or six games.... Of note Cory Farris of Boone County and in anther year the University of Kentucky, is hitting the cover off the ball while being the DH of the team. In today game Cory went 2-3. Luke Maile didn't play today but is catching every other day, and so far is 1-5. In the first innings of his first game for Midland, he threw out the first runner trying to steal second on him, and that was that, for any team trying to steal again.... Seems to me that the least happiest people in NKy are football coach Rick Thompson of Boone County and basketball coach Mike Listerman of CovCath, as both young men will be in New Mexico until at least the 10th of August playing baseball and not football or basketball. Of note also is that Cory and Luke have developed a fast friendship between themselves, as both seem to have a lot in common.....Would be very nice to see these two local NKy outstanding baseball players both wearing the Blue of the University Kentucky! Now that would be fun to see.
