Week 9

Jacob Savage (RB/LB, Ryle)

🗞️ | Does anyone close on the ball quite like Savage? He swallows runners like an eclipse blotting out the sun. He inhaled a season high 18 of them against Great Crossing. Sharing the field with Luke Ballard, he was also the best at evading tackles, ripping off 159 yards and four touchdowns with authority.

Season so far: 116 carries for 809 yards and 16 touchdowns | 3 touchdown receptions | 74 tackles | 7.5 TFL | 1 fumble forced and one recovered

Colin Daniels (QB, North Oldham)

🗞️ | He's beginning to separate from the quarterback pack statistically after a four game stretch of 22 touchdown passes and zero picks, including six more against Waggener last week. Daniels had three more touchdown passes than incompletions, earning him this week's 'William Tell Marksmanship Award' 🎯.
Season so far: 130/189 (69%) for 2,124 yards and 37 touchdowns with 2 interceptions | 137 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns

Keagan Maher (RB, Cooper)

🗞️ | There were limited opportunities against badly overmatched Scott, but Maher made the most of them, covering 180 yards from scrimmage and scoring four touchdowns on a mere five touches.
Season so far: 151 carries for 1,033 yards and 16 touchdowns | 215 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns

Evan Hampton (RB, Owensboro)

🗞️ | It was a nice night for a stroll on Frederica Street, where Muhlenberg County couldn't keep pace with Hampton. The future Vanderbilt Commodore swiftly gained 140 yards and three scores on ten carries.
Season so far: 95 carries for 905 yards and 12 touchdowns

Cavalli Pittman (RB, John Hardin)

🗞️ | The pace has slowed dramatically since last season, but he's still one of the state's premier running backs. Pittman ran for 118 hard yards and a touchdown to help put John over previously unbeaten Taylor County.

Season so far: 192 carries for 1,293 yards and 16 touchdowns

Brady Wasik (QB, Lexington Catholic)

🗞️ | In a workmanlike performance, Wasik ran for three touchdowns as the Knights rocked Bardstown with a running clock.
Season so far: 60/106 (56%) for 651 yards and 8 touchdowns with 2 interceptions | 610 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns | 41 tackles | 7 TFL | 3.5 sacks | 2 forced fumbles and 1 recovered

Marlon Harbin III (ATH, Saint Xavier)

🗞️ | The totality of the numbers won't blow you away, but he makes high impact plays look easy. Harbin had a highlight reel touchdown reception, ran for a second score, and recorded an interception against North Hardin.

Season so far: 43 carries for 274 yards and 7 touchdowns | 40 receptions for 430 yards and 5 touchdowns | 1 kick return touchdown | 32 tackles | 2 interceptions

Kain Patton (ATH, Prestonsburg)

🗞️ | Like so many others lately, Patton continues to pad stats as we slog through an underwhelming district slate. He covered 159 yards from scrimmage and scored four touchdowns against Leslie County.
Season so far: 88 carries for 1,235 yards and 18 touchdowns | 24 receptions for 520 yards and 5 touchdowns | 37 tackles | 1 sack

‼️Milestones‼️
Markezz Hightower (RB, Madisonville-North Hopkins)
🗞️ | The upset loss to Apollo overshadowed his landmark night, but Hightower’s 222 rushing yards moved him past 5,000 for his career. He also scored four touchdowns, though it was all in vain as M-NH’s pursuit of an unbeaten season was cut short.
Season so far: 156 carries for 1,328 yards and 22 touchdowns | 116 receiving yards

Shout-out to Trevy Barber 👏. His return from a Week 1 injury was a welcomed sight last week. Bowling Green needed every bit of his 115 receiving yards and touchdown, as Greenwood refused to roll over.

It's probably too late for him to mount a serious run at Mr. Football, but he earned some recognition last week.

Hate Trevy got hurt in the first part of the year. I thought he was a real contender to win it going into this season. Great kid and tremendous athlete. Been balling since he was a freshman.

Probably not Mr. Football note-worthy, but you will be hard pressed to find a duo with a better efficiency rating than Cayden Varney and JB Woolum of Belfry.

JB Woolum

42 carries, 528 yards, 8 TD's (12.5 yards per carry, a TD every 5.25 carries)

11 reception, 322 yards, 3 TD's (29.3 per reception, a TD every 3.7 catches)

Cayden Varney

8 catches, 283 yards, 5 TD's (35.4 per reception, a TD every 1.6 catches)

As a tandem, here is their offensive efficiency

18.57 yards per touch, a TD every 3.8 touches!

As a bonus, these two have also combined for 6 INT's and and a pair of Kick Return TD's as well.

What if I told you it gets even better?

Since the Johnson Central game that efficiency looks like 27 touches, 682 yards, 12 TD's for an average of 25.3 per touch and a TD every 2.25 touches... crazy numbers over a 4-game stretch.

I've got Woolum earmarked as a possible darkhorse for next year, but he's just a junior this season.

Belfry seems to produce someone every couple of years that I have to keep tabs on.

He won’t be in the conversation but James Bradley Jr from Hopkinsville

954 Yards Rushing 15 TD

394 Receiving 6 TD

Int for TD & PR fr TD.
23 Total TD

Rushed for over 100 yards as well vs South Warren which is a chore in itself.

For me, I think Wyatt Rainey from Meade County should be in consideration. This young man may not have the wins this year but when it comes to the epitome of a team player and someone that will do anything for their team, he should be in the conversation.

@JBrown_YL on X -- gives pretty good statistical overview every week with some of names (he is an Oldham guy but his tracker has most top names):
