theguru Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I discussed this recently with a former high level OL and we both settled on Guard. Anyone?
FirstTimeLongTime Posted October 8 Posted October 8 As I have said on here before, he would be an excellent interior D Lineman. Quick, strong and smart and will have the size. Many of the same qualities that would make him a good interior O Lineman. He played interior O line his 8th grade year and was excellent. Great at center and oh man, running behind him as a pulling Guard. With that said, O Linemen and D Linemen are different breeds. Really have to love it to play those positions especially at the next level. I can also see him playing TE at the Group of 5 or FCS Level. Keep in mind that he just turned 16. If he grows a couple of inches then we have a different story here. 2 1

If he grows a couple inches and keeps his weight in check, I could see him being a jumbo "Y" Tight End playing in college at like 6'4 275.

Only being 16 he’s got some growth ahead of him?
James Graham Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I think Tayden is shorter and a little heavier than what he puts out on Twitter and I know we consider these "athlete" type recruits to be more of the Cash Harney types, but that is Tayden's position in college... "athlete." His comparable... Taysom Hill. You don't take a kid with his ball skills and put him on the line nor do I think someone just picks up the line positions up that easily. Some college coach will figure out he can run it, catch it and throw it... even if he doesn't check every single box for any specific college position. 3

But I really want him to be the QB next year and play QB in college. That’s way more fun to watch. The smart team strategy is probably Lorenzen at TE / Wildcat QB and have Armstrong be the regular QB. Kramer and Williams at RB. Harris snd Feldbrugge at WR. They will be good. 1

Honey Badger Posted October 9 Posted October 9 There is quite a few OL/DL in the NFL that were QB's in high school and even some went into college as QB's. The guys that play at the next levels in the trenches are freak athletes all around. So I could see how Tayden fits into that category. I have said recently. I don't care if Tayden was my center that I still think he would give my team the best opportunity to win games. What I meant by that was he could play anywhere on the field in the box and that area of the field would be under control. .

Seen this with some of the best athletes in NKY at one point in their lifetime.
Unrivaled97 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I hadn’t ever really seen him play so I decided to watch a little bit of the replays vs CovCath & Ryle. Overall, he’s a pretty decent athlete. I don’t think he’s a 1 or 3 tech so no interior DL. If he played DL, I could see him as a DE (glorified tackle) in a 3-4 defense as a 4i tech. If he plays offense, yes he’s an IOL. 2
