Graves County 19 Union County 15

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be at this one, and the radio broadcast flickered on and off before finally dying at the end, so if anyone had followed this one your thoughts would be appreciated.

The Eagles notch their first win of the season mainly off the back of their defense, although their offense came up clutch when it needed to.

Incredible defensive game by both teams. This was some old school smash mouth football and most people hate watching these types of games, but I loved it.

Unlikely key plays and players was the difference in the game.

Union took advantage of good field position and scored early. Neither team really got close after that in the first half.

Unlikely candidate for player of the game. Graves Punter Chase Stonecipher. He had 5 punts inside the 30 and 3 inside the 5. Hit another for over 50 yards. Union could never get out of the hole in the second half. they were forced to punt deep inside their territory and it was partially blocked, not sure who, but nobody knew where the ball was but Coleman Amis, who ran over picked the ball up and took it to the 2. Graves would punch it in.

After another incredible punt inside the 10, Amis got a big tackle for loss and followed it up with a safety sack.

Graves would get a FG after the safety that hit the crossbars and bounced over to make it 12-7

Union finally broke a long 55 yard td run.

Then the Graves County offense put together an impressive game winning drive to get the first win on the year.
