A pair of one score losses separated the Maroons from an unbeaten regular season last year, the high point of which was a high scoring takedown of longtime district kingpin Owensboro. The the dynamic combo of quarterback Kanyon Johnson (3,000+ yards of total offense and 34 TDs) and running back Markezz Hightower (1,500 yards from scrimmage and 23 TDs) are back to give defenses nightmares, while the linebacker duo of Skylar Minton and Kirk LaGrange will anchor the defense.

It was feast or famine for MNH's offense last year, as they averaged 45 ppg in their nine wins and just 13 in their three losses.

If the Maroons survive a Week 1 tussle with Union County, it could be smooth sailing to a late September date with Graves County before a vengeful Owensboro awaits at Rash Stadium in October.
