BluegrassPreps.com 11th Region Week 2 Review

Well, look who it is. The last remaining unbeaten team in the region are the Henry Clay Blue Devils, who lost a lot of firepower from last season's regional championship squad but didn't let it affect them the first two weeks as they transition to new go-to guys. The Blue Devils are off to a 4-0 start with two more wins last week. Henry Clay, Great Crossing, Lexington Catholic and Paul Laurence Dunbar all escaped the week without losing a game. Great Crossing won the Billy Hicks Classic as the top three in the rankings remained the same. Movement begins at the No. 4 spot and continues through the rest of the top 10. Words of note: The back end of the top 10 is a very fluid situation. Individually, Madison Central's Jaylen Davis and Madison Southern's Jay Rose grabbed the spotlight with big scoring weeks. And there were baskets aplenty at Frankfort Christian where brothers Micah Sowders and Noah Sowders continued to fill it up.

Regional Rankings

1. Great Crossing (5-1): A 3-0 championship week at the Billy Hicks Classic netted victories against Franklin County, Covington Holy Cross and Frederick Douglass in the final. Let's flip-flop Lafayette and Franklin County, moving Lafayette ahead one spot to No. 15 due to its razor-thin overtime win over Franklin County, now at No. 16. Thanks.
