1. Johnson Central (18-2): Perennial 15th Region title contender Johnson Central defeated Betsy Layne and Phelps during the final week of the 2020-21 boys' high school basketball regular season. Johnson Central senior Isaiah May has been named the 15th Region Player of the Year. In addition to May being honored, longtime Johnson Central head coach Tommy McKenzie has been named the 15th Region Coach of the Year. The Golden Eagles are set to face reigning 15th Region champion Martin County in the 57th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals at Magoffin County on Tuesday, March 16. 
 
2. Paintsville (10-8): The Tigers pulled away to defeat defending 15th Region champion Martin County 73-57 in the final week of the regular season. Playing well, Paintsville has won five of its last six games. Junior Colby Fugate continues to lead the Tigers in scoring. Paintsville is poised to face tournament host Magoffin County in the 57th District Semifinals on Wednesday, March 17. 
 
3. Shelby Valley (16-7): The Wildcats rolled past Floyd Central prior to suffering an upset loss to Pike County Central in its regular season finale. The duo of Kaden Robinson and Keian Worrix continues to lead the Wildcats. Shelby Valley is set to face rival Pikeville in the 59th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals on the Panthers' home floor on Tuesday, March 16.
 
4. East Ridge (13-8): The Warriors were idle in the final week of the regular season. Four players - Isaac Woods, Jonathon Mills, Eli Rose and Braxton Stanley - are averaging double figures in scoring for offensively balanced East Ridge. The Warriors are slated to meet Jenkins in the 59th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals on Monday, March 15.
 
5. Pikeville (12-11): The Panthers dropped a game to 14th Region title contender Wolfe County during the final week of the regular season. After Rylee Samons was sidelined with an injury, fellow juniors Nick Robinson and Laithan Hall rank as Pikeville's top two scorers. The Shelby Valley-Pikeville game is one of the top matchups in the opening round of the 2020-21 boys' high school basketball postseason.
 
6. Belfry (15-9): The Pirates posted back-to-back wins during the final week of the regular season. Belfry has won 10 of its last 12 games. Delivering big for the Pirates, junior center Bol Kuir scored 25 points and pulled down 42 rebounds in a double overtime win at Lawrence County on Thursday, March 11. Belfry will face the winner of a Pike County Central-Phelps matchup in the 60th District Boys' Basketball Tournament title game on Friday, March 19. 
 
7. Betsy Layne (10-8): The Bobcats dropped a regular season finale to 15th Region frontrunner Johnson Central. However, Betsy Layne is the top seed heading into the 58th District Boys' Basketball Tournament. Set to host the tournament, Betsy Layne will face Floyd Central in the 58th District Semifinals on Monday, March 15.
 
8. Magoffin County (12-11): The Hornets notched back-to-back wins during the final week of the regular season, defeating Pike County Central and Prestonsburg. After dropping a pair of games to Paintsville in the regular season, Magoffin County is set to face the Tigers in the 57th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals.  
 
9. Pike County Central (15-9): The Hawks dropped a game to Magoffin County prior to pulling off an upset win over Shelby Valley during the final week of the regular season. Tournament host Pike County Central is scheduled to face Phelps in the 60th District Semifinals on Tuesday, March 16.
 
10. Martin County (8-12): Reigning champion Martin County suffered a 57th District loss to Paintsville before bouncing back to beat Phelps in a regular season finale. Now, Martin County must face current 15th Region frontrunner Johnson Central in the 57th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals. 
 
11. Lawrence County (10-9): Defending 58th District champion Lawrence County split a pair of games during the final week of the regular season, defeating Wayne (W.Va.) before falling to Belfry in double overtime. The Bulldogs are set to face Prestonsburg in the 58th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals at Betsy Layne on Monday, March 15.
 
12. Prestonsburg (9-13): The Blackcats dropped back-to-back games to Morgan County and Magoffin County during the final week of the regular season. Prestonsburg and Lawrence County are due to meet in the 58th District Boys' Basketball Tournament after splitting two games during the regular season.
 
13. Floyd Central (7-14): The Jaguars suffered losses to perennial title contenders Knott County Central (14th Region) and Shelby Valley during the final week of the regular season. Floyd Central is matched up against top seed Betsy Layne in the 58th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals on Monday, March 15.
 
14. Phelps (5-18): The Hornets topped Powell County before dropping games to Martin County, Belfry and Johnson Central in Week 10. Phelps has the challenge of facing Pike County Central in the 60th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals. 
 
15. Jenkins (2-15): The Cavaliers suffered an eight-point loss to former 14th Region foe June Buchanan in a regular season finale. Jenkins has the tough task of facing East Ridge in the 59th District Boys' Basketball Tournament Semifinals.
