Northern Kentucky 2020 Football Signee Tracker

Is it me or did 100 kids sign with Thomas More? Did they get more roster spots since making the jump to NAIA? It's great to see all of these kids playing but seems like half of NKY signed with them. Should make for some fun Saturdays to catch a college game.

This happens every year, and is not a new occurrence as a result of them moving to NAIA. It's been said many times, football is a driver of enrollment at these small schools, and most of these kids aren't receiving athletic money. And when it's all said and done, 75% or more will never play a single snap for TM.

Kind of surprised that TM did not get Hicks from Conner, but got Kremer from NCC. Good luck to both and hopefully they each find success at the next level.

I didn't know that. Makes sense, thank you for that information. Still hope to get out to a few games and see them play.

In your opinion is Georgetown or TMU a better football school?

With TMU and most NAIA schools there is a pot of money and that money is divided up (not equally) by the head coach and probably most likely by how much the player will be able to contribute on the field. If the player is being recruited by the school, you can best believe they are going to allocate some of that pot to that player, even if it's only a couple thousand dollars.

@rjs4470 is primarily correct in that most of these schools recruit for enrollment which you can see from several football rosters with some reaching well over 100 players and just like every college football team, you better come ready to compete for playing time because regardless of the level; D1, D2, NAIA, or D3 everyone is good and these guys are not in high school anymore and TMU is in a very tough conference as the Mid-South is like the SEC of NAIA football, or at least it used to be.

Good luck to all players at all levels in pursuing a dream to play at the next level because it's a sacrifice in so many ways but most importantly good luck to all of them in getting that degree!

Honestly a toss up. Think TMU has more upside as things stand today.

Both are very good. G-town has a few national titles under their belt, and a lot of history. TMU is able to easily recruit across the river in Cincinnati and thus has easy access to a ton of talent.

One thing that may help TMU recruit the catholic schools is the automatic $20,000 off tuition to any kid graduating from a diocesan school. That puts tuition and books down to about $12,000/yr.

Georgetown is nowhere near whtthey we’re.

I agree with all of this except your likening the Mid-South to the SEC. I think that title belongs to the Mid-States Football Association. They boast the most NAIA champs over the past 10-15 years. Though, Lindsey Wilson did do very well this year, losing to the top MSFA team (Marian) in the playoffs by a score of 34-24. Then Marian lost in the championship game by 2 points.

This is why I said earlier in the thread that I thought the jump to NAIA would help TMU in recruiting the local area. They will be able to get some of the better athletes who would have looked elsewhere because they can get some money to play at an NAIA school or D2. While TMU always wound up with a bunch of local players, I think the caliber of player who stays near home will elevate a little because of the existence of scholarship money. I know of at least one player who barely gave TMU a look because he could get money elsewhere. Although being recruited by the Saints, by the time TMU announced its move to NAIA, he had already eliminated them from the possible places to go and narrowed his choices to two NAIA schools and a D2 program.
