LSURock
I dont think it is that big of a stretch considering CCH beat Trinity is a passing league. The Rocks hosted CovCath at Trinity in 7 on 7. The Rocks defeated them quite handily. Most in attendance agreed that while CovCath had a couple of outstanding receivers, the Rocks had many more weapons. I think the Rocks win the QB matchup as well. What "passing league" are you talking about?
GR8BigBull
I cannot believe that a "passing league" comparison is being made while trying to decide on the top teams in the state. While SOME teams try to run their offenses and defenses in these "basketball on grass " games, most run totally different schemes. Just to win a passing league! I can agree that you see quality of your receivers and the composure of your quarterback. I do not think the results necessarily equate to your top teams at the end of the season. I understand that these 7 on 7 games are some of the only heah to head contests we can refer to but it IS a stretch. My top 5, of course I HAVE NOT seen all these teams but: 1. Trinity (of course) 2. Male 3. CovCath 4. Henry Clay 5. Mercer Next Best 5 6. St. X 7. Highlands 8. Russell 9. Danville 10. Ryle

I see teams in 7 on 7 throwing 5 yard passes waist high across the middle to keep a drive alive. In football, that area tends to be a little crowded with larger than average guys. If you participate in 7 on 7 to enhance timing, great. If you treat it as a game, not so much. Trinity was defeated by Shelby County at UofL's 7 on 7. In football, I think the score was 38-7 Rocks. Go figure.
02Ram54
I have to agree about the passing league comments. 1) Trinity 2) Male 3) Cov Cath 4) Henry Clay 5) Bowling Green
Bluesport
I think it's a huge stretch. Male won all three passing leagues it played in (including U of L's). St X beat Highlands more convincingly than CovCath and crushed LexCath 47-0, whereas CC won a shootout 56-49. Well if you want to play the "who beat who" game, didn't Bowling Green give St. X all they could handle without having 3 or 4 starters? CCH had the game under their thumb vs BG before halftime
NineOh
LexCath is a better team than Highlands, bottom line. Otherwise, I would love to see a Trinity/CCH matchup. Is Papa John's available next Saturday?

This may be the first time in my short history on BGP that I have gotten that!:thumb:
GR8BigBull
I like the teams who "check down" to the RB sitting at the line of scrimmage and "nudge" the ball downfield with plays that would NEVER be made in a REAL game. There were a couple teams who acted like they won the State Championship by winning a "pool" game.
Theoldguy
I have to agree about the passing league comments. 1) Trinity 2) Male 3) Cov Cath 4) Henry Clay 5) Bowling Green BG is not the fifth best team in Kentucky maybe the fifth best in 3A but not the entire state... The team from Ft. Thomas, JC and LexCath would beat BG, at least the BG I saw playing Friday night.....
rocktopper
The last time I saw a football game, there were 11 players for each team on the field! 7 on 7 is not a guage for ranking teams. As I have stated before, it is just a great opportunity for quarterbacks and receivers to work on timing. Nothing more-nothing less!! Congrats ROCKS...17! 1) Trinity 2) Male 3) Cov Cath 4) Henry Clay 5) Bowling Green
RockPride
It's a shame Trinity won't schedule the NKY teams. Yeah right?
BIGBLUE63
Nope............Highlands.:ylsuper: Not this year, you had to have a strong passing game to beat LexCath this year.

Ryle The only reason I brought this into the discussion was because Shamrocks said that it was a stretch to have CCH over Male/Trinity. Personally I think if CCH played either of these teams it would be a close game.
