Theoldguy
Well CovCath fans, even though we are still playing Football this Friday night at the Pizza Box, Coach "L" and our Colonels will start defending their Ninth Region Basketball Championship, with the first game of the 06/07 season Tuesday November 28 at CovCath against Lexington Paul Dunbar. The varsity game starts at 7:30. Of course Mark and the J-man will bring you this game live, and at least at a home CovCath Basketball game, both will be warm, and cozy, and of course will be able to see everything taking place on the hardwood. Listen in to the live play by play of the game, or better yet come to the game to practice up on your cheering to get ready for the big game on Friday at the Pizza Box.... ColonelCrazy
Unfortunately, I think Dunbar will win this one with relative ease. Covington Catholic is deep, but they'll be missing 2 key players in Kurt Bovard (football) and Billy Schult (knee injury). Add that to the fact that senior guard Brandon Brown will also be out of the lineup (football), and I think Dunbar cruises. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the Colonels doing much tonight against the Bulldogs.

Actually while it won't help the record, it just might make the Colonels stronger for the District and Region, that is by having the Juniors become battle tested. Coach "L" loves to use his bench, and by having the Juniors play a lot in the first couple of weeks, they will be getting much more playing time than if Billy and Kurt were playing.....Maybe a blessing in disguie.....
