Estill 28 Powell 6

The eighth grade finished with 24 kids. They were 4-3, but came close in every game they played. They like to hit, and have two kids that will be tough to stop running the ball in that double wing. The most difficult part will be getting the kids to play next year. Seems like several drop off between 8th-9th grade.

It sure would be nice to see all twenty four come out next year.

Is it a seventh- and eighth-grade team combined or just the eighth grade.

If Powell had 11 seniors, it doesn't sound like they'll be a whole lot better next year.

Any idea how many players that Fleming County returns next year?

There are twenty four in the eight grade alone. The seventh grade had 23 or 24 as well. There is also a very strong running back in the seventh. Him combined with the other two in the eighth grade could be tough to stop down the road.

Can't wait to see that. I think the youth leagues started in Estill County a few years ago, will have tremendous results as these kids stroll through high school.
