These two Jefferson County schools face off Friday. The 3-1 Bruins enter the contest at 2-2. Ballard's losses were to #4 Male 35-14 and 2A #3 DeSales 37-22. The victories were over 4A Collins 34-28 and 3A #4 Central 30-7.

 

Manual is 1-2 after picking up their first win 7-6 over 4A Western on Friday. The Crimsons opened the seaon with losses to 3A #4 Central 7-0 and 5A #5 Fern Creek 14-10. Manual's points allowed total is the lowest in 6A at 27. Their points scored is the second lowest at 17 for their three games. Only Dunbar, which is scoreless after three games, is lower.

 

Ballard's offense appears to be better than Manual's. The Crimson's defense is stingy. The Bruins have not won in this series since 21-0 in 2012. Manual allowed 33 points in the last four games between these programs. I like Ballard to snap the losing streak.
