lawildcat Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 How are people able to get away with things like this? Nobody bothered to check out the SSN of the children? Seriously, how do you get medical assistance for non-existent children?! Pa. woman allegedly got $1
Jumper_Dad Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 People make a living gaming the system, I'll guarantee some where in EKY, NKY, WKY, Louisville and Lexington someone is doing something similar even if on a smaller scale.

Lawnboy13 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 How are people able to get away with things like this? Nobody bothered to check out the SSN of the children? Seriously, how do you get medical assistance for non-existent children?! Pa. woman allegedly got $1G in welfare for nonexistent children - NY Daily News A Pennsylvania woman is charged with accepting more than $100,000 in welfare benefits for three children who were never born, authorities said. Sabrina Strothers, 23, surrendered Monday to police on charges of theft, forgery and welfare fraud, according to a police affidavit. Detectives from the Allegheny County Court District Attorney's Office said that Strothers was pregnant with triplets in 2008, but that the babies were never born. Strothers reported that three children — Thomas, Tomalyia and Tyreik Wilson — were born on Nov. 20, 2008, and she collected benefits for them until March, after her cousin allegedly alerted authorities. Strothers received $89,453 in medical assistance funds, $37,269 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits and $2,073 in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families grants — totaling $128,795 of illegal benefits from Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services. When questioned about the children's whereabouts, detectives said Strothers told them, "they were not in her household, but were living with their father in Atlanta, Georgia," according to the affidavit. Social security numbers used to claim benefits for the children in fact belonged to people born in 1887, 1945 and 1960. Strothers is scheduled for an evidentiary hearing in Allegheny County Court on Dec. 22. Simply amazing!!!! With the technology we have today, is there not a way to flag a persons social once they die?
BigVMan23 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Wait...there were ss numbers around in 1887? Color me shocked.
Jumper_Dad Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 Wait...there were ss numbers around in 1887? Color me shocked. According to the Google, the first numbers were issued in the mid 1930's around '36.

littleluck55 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 So what are medical assistance payments?

According to the Google, the first numbers were issued in the mid 1930's around '36. Remember that you only needed a SS# if you had a job or you were getting benefits. In the mid-30's the person would have been around 50. Lots of people born in the late 1800's will have SS#s.
