Okay lets hear it...both teams coming off of losses last week...Mayfield to Marshall County...and Hoptown to one of the best teams, if not the best, in Louisville Male.

How does everyone feel like this one will go and how are the injuries for both teams heading into the game this Friday.

I will hang up and listen off of the air:D

I think that Mayfield has a good shot, from what I am hearing the weather is going to be significantly cooler which could help out a lot for Mayfield and our cramping problems. From what I heard coach Morris saying nobody was seriously injured in the Marshall county game so that is good news.

From what I have been hearing about Hoptown, they don't have as many offensive dimensions as Marshall has and they don't have quite the defense that Marshall has. If these two factors are true, then I feel it could be the makings of a big "W" for this young Mayfield team, only time will tell, ;).

Male will make most teams look bad this season. At this point in the season both teams are not as good as they were last year. I look for Hoptown to come out on top with a hard fought game. I just don't don't see a freshmen back doing to much damage to the Tigers. Hoptown's offense will get a little spark from wr Eric Colmen who did not play much last week because of a foot injury. Should be a good game.

I agree that Male will make most teams look bad especially this year!

TigerTalker...how is E.T.'s shoulder...I heard that he has a sore shoulder and that the coaching staff took him out last week to rest it...any truth to that...if he is not 100% healthy then it could play a major part in the outcome.

I believe that this game will another hard fought game as both teams have something to prove coming off of last weeks losses, but something tells me that Mayfield will find a way to pull out this victory over Hoptown...although the Tigers are the one team that seems to have the Cards number year in and year out...but I feel (maybe in my heart too much) that the Cards will find a way to get back into the win column this week with a 24-21 win.

Mayfield isn't basing their offense on a freshman running back by no means, he is just the player that got thrown into the mix cause all the starters got injured. He has just stepped up to the challenge and handled it exceptionally well IMO. But I expect him to help establish our running game and Adam Shelton to display some more excellent passing. I still think the cooler weather is going to keep this score down low, if Mayfield can keep the offense on the field longer than Hoptown can, which I expect will happen if the weather cooperates, :thumb:

This will require a monumental effort from the Cards and some cooler weather. I gotta tab Hoptown as the favorite but we have a shot, Lawson has the defense playing good football for this early and the offense has preformed much better for this early in the season considering the losses to graduation from last year and the injuries this year.

Man, I am loving Mayfield's heart they have showed the last two weeks! I too see this one being close, whichever team wins the field position battle and doesn't turn the ball over wins!

If ET is not healthy for Hoptown that could matter, although Mayfield just got tired and couldn't stop Marshall's stud back in the end...Cooler weather should help Mayfield depth wise...Someone please pack some bananas to have a War Memorial to stop that cramping!!!

I'll take Mayfield is a mild shocker...

Mayfield apparently was very tough last week against a quality Marshall Co. team. I like what I hear about Cards frosh RB. The home crowd and kicking game is the difference in this one. Birds 27 Hoptown 21

Weather forecast for Friday and Friday night here in Mayfield...

Partly Cloudy Highs in the Mid 80's and for Friday night Partly Cloudy with lows in the mid 60's...so not great but much better than the previous two Friday nights...should be a great game at War Memorial Stadium

Tyrese Murrell is going to be very special RB for the Cards, a great kid and good attitude from what I hear!

Also, it will be interesting to see if star Punter and Safety Aaron Williams is healthy, he left the game last week with a knee injury, hyperextension I believe!

I heard A Williams will be ok

I talked to one of the coaches today and he stated that Williams is fine and barring some type of setback should be in uniform Friday night against Hoptown. All the Cards should be, except for Trevarthan, should be in uniform and ready to go this Friday night. The team has been able to work a little more on conditioning this week with the cooler weather and they look ready to go. Seems like this team is ready to get the taste of last Friday's loss out of their mouths and eager to get back onto the field against a quality opponent such as Hopkinsville. Should be a great game.

Anyone from the Hopkinsville area heard anything on the status of the shoulder injury to Emmanuel Taylor? If so how is he doing as he is a fun player to watch.
