SportsGuy41017 Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 From the PM: Military action being taken without chain of command; wrong to call events a coup Baghdad Bob's brother? It would would seem like this is more than just a small group, forces in two large cities acting? With ground and air forces?
Getslow Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Like Egypt, Turkish military leaders tend to be foreign educated and far more secularist than politicians. Erdogan has drifted further into Islamism to hold power the longer he's held the presidency. Interesting things happening tonight.

PepRock01 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Even though one should never celebrate a military taking over, I will say that the TAF has been consistent in giving the people back their democracy when they depose extremist leaders. This ought to be interesting to follow.
jericho Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 This is awesome. We need some more Arab Spring revolutions. Just waiting for Obama to praise the revolution and coup. Hey maybe Obama can go to Turkey and rule them since he is one.
PepRock01 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Chief of General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces: "Turkey is under TSK (military) control." "Required to ultimately restore freedom and democracy." If this were any other country I would assume dictatorship in the near future. Turkey not so much.
