BigVMan23 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 WARNING: Somewhat graphic...no blood but you see the kid being shot 3-4 times. No story to the link, just the video, so not 100% sure why he was pulled in the first place, but the kid did not follow ANY directions he was given and he appeared to be holding or reaching for something with his right hand pretty much the whole time he was out of the truck. Even kept reaching for something after he was shot the first time and was shot again as he lay on the ground. I'm wondering if the kid was drunk or on something as defiant/out of it as he appeared to be. Sorry, computer glitch, posted wrong link, fixed. StrongSide Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 That's hard to watch, something definitely wasn't right with that kid. He even proclaimed he hated his life right before he got shot.
Clyde Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Hard to place blame anywhere other than on the kid. The officers were very patient IMO.
BigVMan23 Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Hard to place blame anywhere other than on the kid. The officers were very patient IMO. 100% agree. With all the other shootings and this being a hot topic of discussion, I will ask this (not asking this specifically to you Clyde, in general). IF this exact scenario played out just like it did, the only difference being the kid was a 19 yo black youth, everything else being exactly the same, would BLM and supporters of that movement make the same statement that Clyde just made? Or would this be another example in the arsenal they would use to try and prove their point?
Getslow Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I can't believe I watched that, but it was among the more surreal things I've ever seen. It's like he wanted to die. What on earth could have possibly been happening in that dude's head?

I didn't catch that, but if so, cop-assisted suicide? Gotta know you can't be reaching for something when you're being instructed to hit the deck unless that's the outcome you're looking for.

Yeah cops gave him plenty of chances to surrender and things would've remained peaceful, but I just don't think that's what he wanted.

And then all the facts would come out later and it would get swept under their rug and forgotten about because facts ruin BLM arguments.

But that's not what happened with the Michael Brown incident, the very incident that started or spurred the BLM movement from the beginning.
lawildcat Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 But that's not what happened with the Michael Brown incident, the very incident that started or spurred the BLM movement from the beginning. Michael Browns' death did not spur the BLM movement. It was the death of Trayvon Martin.
BigVMan23 Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Michael Browns' death did not spur the BLM movement. It was the death of Trayvon Martin. It was? I thought it was the Brown incident. Ok, regardless, my point still stands that after all the facts came out it didn't seem to change the way BLM and supporters saw the incident.

Ok, regardless, my point still stands that after all the facts came out it didn't seem to change the way BLM and supporters saw the incident. That's why there is no progression in trying to resolve issues with the BLM leaders. Even when facts go against their argument, they continue to argue... :banghead: But anyways my previous post was my best guess at your original question. And as you've stated it really doesn't matter if the killing was justified or not BLM won't be accept a cop killing a black man. Not that they should be happy about a guy getting killed but BLM has to be reasonable in certain circumstances.
FarBeyondDriven Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Michael Browns' death did not spur the BLM movement. It was the death of Trayvon Martin. Look up this name...... Assata Shakur, she is also routinely quoted by ‘Black Lives Matter’ demonstrators.
Clyde Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Where was the body cam mounted? Looked like it was behind his ear.
