I wonder if this was a death by police type deal or if his brain was just that out of it for whatever reason. You can't pull any type of gun or reach for any type of gun or weapon when you are involved with the police. You won't win. Ever.

Another valid shooting in my opinion.

Craziest thing to me was the person that took the video. She was in the direct line of fire. She was looking right down the barrel of the police pistols. You could hear her say "please do as they say". She almost got killed because of this guy.

I saw one news report that said the woman who called 911 was this gentleman's girlfriend who now says the police shouldn't have shot him because it was not a real gun. Why didn't she tell the police what type of gun he had when she called them?

Got to be more to this story. The video is exactly what TAC said.

If a person is carrying a gun, any kind of gun, even a bb or pellet pistol, then you are involved in something not good....period. When you do something like this, in particular in certain parts of the Nati, you are likely to get shot by someone....

The family claims that it was wrong to shoot him 9 times...to quote the great orator @lawildcat...."how many time were they supposed to ...? "

Family of man shot to death by police speaks out - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV

This whole article makes me say "Really....Really"

WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

The family of the man who was shot and killed by Cincinnati police officers in Westwood Wednesday is questioning how officers handled the situation.

“It only takes one bullet to put somebody down. It doesn’t take nine shots,” said Karen Williams, Paul Gaston’s aunt.

District Three officers confronted the 37-year-old Gaston in the 3300 block of Harrison Avenue after reports that he was waving a gun on Dirheim Avenue earlier.

Police say Gaston refused to comply with commands to lie on the ground and retrieved a firearm from his waistband.

“I agree” said Williams, when asked if he should have done what officer’s asked, but she said the force used by officers was excessive.

One shot, one shot would have done it,” said Williams, “why wouldn’t they (officers) shoot to wound instead of shooting to kill.”

The girlfriend of Paul Gaston spoke to Fox 19 Now. The original 911 call was made by her but she did not initially tell police Gaston did not have a real gun.

She asked us not to use her name. She said Gaston was playing around and shot her daughter with what she called a BB gun.

“He was drunk he had been drinking,” she said. He had just had an accident. Not trying to justify him not listening, but that played a role,” she said.

She agrees with Gaston’s mother explaining to us that police should have used restraint.

“I don’t think he deserved to be shot. I think it could have been handled differently,” she said.

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and the Cincinnati Police Department said earlier Wednesday that the shooting incident was justified.

Yep, one kill shot to the head would have done it. Wait, that's probably not what they meant, is it.

Police are always in a no-win situation when it comes to situations like this. Glad to see the chief is backing his officers for doing what they were trained to do.

Can't say it enough. King is a moron. Every situation is different and for every one where police shoot a black man I could show you thousands where they don't.

I promise you, armed black men have been arrested without incident in Cincinnati.

White people with pellet=bb/fake guns have been shot in this country too.

I give the family members a break on their comments. Grief can make you say things that others think are illogical.

Which is why the media shouldn't bother them right after.

They are going to say stupid things, like they did here. The media doesn't care.
