SHS Future Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 12th Region Rankings 1/18/16 1) Mercer County (19-0) - Many consider the Titans as the number one team in the state and this week they continue to add fuel to that fire. They won three road games last week continuing their unbeaten streak with wins over Bourbon county 79-47, Wayne County 76-66, and Anderson County 76-64. The win over Wayne Co. was a really nice win since it shows they could go into a hostile environment against a good team and still come away with the victory. In that game Will Hager led all scores with 25 points. Trevon Faulkner and Malik Dowe both contributed double-doubles with 20/10 and 11/12 respectively. This week the Titans play Montgomery County, West Jessamine, and Knott County Central. 2) Southwestern (14-2) - The Warriors added two wins this past week with victories over cross town rival Pulaski County 67-55 and Bardstown 76-46. Steven Fitzgerald led all scores in the game versus Pulaski Co. with 22 points and Peyton Gover added 18 points. This week the Warriors host Russell County and McCreary Central then travel to Madison Central. 3) Wayne County (11-5) - The Cardinals lost at home to Mercer County 66-76 but turn around and beat Hopkinsville 78-75. They also got a district win over McCreary Central 82-46 earlier last week. Trey Blevins and Corey Stearns were the leading scorers in the Mercer County game with 24 points apiece. This week the Cardinals travel to Rockcastle County then to Scott County for the Toyota Classic where they will play Saunders, NY. 4) Pulaski County (12-6) - The Maroons had an interesting week. They beat Lincoln County 58-45 and was led in scoring by Jorell Saterfield with 15 points. But, before the Southwestern game Joe and Jorell Saterfield left school after only playing two games for the Maroons. The Maroons lost to Southwestern 55-67 but turn around and beat Montgomery County 68-59. Pulaski plays Casey County at home this week. 5) West Jessamine (11-8) - The Colts added a couple of wins to their record this past week with victories over Lexington Christian 83-74 and Casey County 81-74. Isaiah Okkeson had 20 points in each game. The Colts travel to Madison Central this week then host district rival Mercer County. 6) Lincoln County (11-7) - The Patriots lost to Pulaski County 45-58 but got a big win on the road at Boyle County 67-64. The win over Boyle gives Lincoln the early edge in the 45th District with a 2-0 record. This week they travel to Garrard County for another district game then host Madison Central. 7) Boyle County (12-3) - The Rebels split a pair of district games this past week beating Danville 71-67 but lost to Lincoln County 64-67. This week they only play one game but it is a road game versus another district foe in Garrard County. 8) Rockcastle County (13-8) - The Rockets have won four games in a row and got two wins this past week against East Jessamine 68-62 and over district rival Casey County 81-70. This week they will get a tough challenge as they host Wayne County. 9) Danville (8-9) - The Admirals split a pair of district games this past week losing to Boyle County 67-71 but beat Garrard County 78-56. Tonight Danville faces Washington County in the Class A region at Burgin. 10) Garrard County (11-7) - The Golden Lions lost the only game they played this past week to district foe Danville 56-78. They host two more district rivals this week playing Lincoln County and Boyle County. 11) Casey County (7-13) - The Rebels lost both games they played last week to district rival Rockcastle County 70-81 and to West Jessamine 74-81. This week they travel to Pulaski County for another district game then to Scott County to face Holmes in the Toyota Classic. 12) Somerset (9-8) - The Briar Jumpers got the win against Model 71-58 in the only game they played last week. This week they play at Burgin in the All A 12th Region tournament. 13) East Jessamine (8-13) - The Jaguars split a pair of games this past week losing to Rockcastle County 62-68 but beat Western Hills in overtime 61-60. This week they travel to Madison Southern then host Spencer County. 14) McCreary County (6-10) - The Raiders lost to Wayne County 46-82 but got wins over Middlesboro 73-52 and Lynn Camp 92-68 this past week. McCreary plays Southwestern and OBI this week. 15) Burgin (7-8) - The Bulldogs lost to Berea 52-61, beat Portland Christian 86-52, and lost to St. Patrick 41-60 this past week. They are the host of the All A 12th Region tournament this week and play Somerset Tuesday night. 16) Ky School f/t Deaf (5-9) - The Colonels lost to Red Bird 40-64 this past week.
