SportsGuy41017
Expulsion, and jail. I don't care about the words before the punch, if this was about this teacher punching this student, the teacher very well may be in jail by now.
bugatti
Did anyone see the story on the O'Reilly Factor a few weeks ago about the limited punishments in some precincts when it comes to violence against teachers?
lawildcat
Definitely expulsion; jail if she's 18. You certainly can't have her back in that classroom, that's for sure.
Habib
I don't know. I wouldn't complain about whatever they decide to do. But I think it should be left up to the teacher and administrators as much as possible. If it's an isolated incident and they feel the student isn't a lost cause then maybe an alternative punishment to court or expulsion can be worked out. If they feel they need criminal charges then I'm fine with that too. I just don't like the idea of "mandatory" responses in cases like these. Getslow
But I think it should be left up to the teacher and administrators as much as possible. \ The problem you'll find throughout JCPS is that the teachers and administrators rarely see eye-to-eye on anything. 75center
What's sad is that the student is probably seen in a better light by some other students now.
2 Humped Camel
The problem in this world is really simple. If I would have ever punched a teacher my Dad would have quite possibly killed me. Therefore, to avoid this I wouldn't have dreamed of punching a teacher. We need people to parent their offspring in a manner that is becoming of a civilized society. The girls should be expelled for the remainder of the school year and charged with assault in my opinion.
UKMustangFan
Absolutely no way you can allow them back in school. Immediate expulsion, and charged to the fullest extent that the law allows is the only course of action.
bugatti
This may be a dumb question, but when a student is expelled, what exactly does that mean? Are they done for the year, for good, indefinitely, are they automatically flunk that grade?

HIM
This is on video, no reason for JCPS to be conducting any student interviews. This student should be expelled and charges should be filed to the fullest extent of the law.
spindoc
The news broadcast says that prior to the phone video there was more back and forth. Not sure if that included physical or verbal or both.
plantmanky
Definitely expulsion; jail if she's 18. You certainly can't have her back in that classroom, that's for sure. Why just because shes 18 or not?
