Male 34 Ballard 14 (JV)

The Bulldogs were never threatened in this contest. Ballard tried old school football by running the ball 90% of the time and the Male defense shut them down. The second Ballard TD was scored by their defense after they stole the ball from a running back.

Male did utilize several juniors that are non-starters on the varsity. This included their back-up varsity QB and a junior running back according to a source close to the team. This was the quietest game in recent history at Male as no rosters were shared rendering the PA man virtually silent.

Male succeeded in running and passing the ball effectively throughout the game. Ballard hurt themselves with several miscues trying to punt the ball. The first half was played almost entirely on the visitors side of the 50. I found the ten minute quarters a step in the right direction by these two squads. I hope it carries over when they play the green teams.
