Villa's record is now 6-2.

Marc Hardin's article did a great job of summarizing the Beechwood vs. Villa game.

 

But here are some of the brief highlights:

First baseman Alexa Meier had a sacrifice bunt in the 1st inning. Unfortunately, Villa was not able to capitalize and left the inning scoreless.

 

Brooke Meier, who pitched a three-hitter and struck out seven, knocked in Villa's first run in the 2nd inning.

 

Two more runs were added in the 5th with heads up base running by Paulette Moser and Kylee (Barbs) Newman.

 

Charissa Junker was 2-4 on the day. Her single in the 7th where she beat the throw knocking in the team's fourth run was the confidence booster the Blue Lightning needed. Alexa Meier followed with a RBI single which gave Villa the 5-2 lead. She then scored when Anna Wagner singled giving Villa the final lead of 6-2.
