Krispy Kreme apologized after a store in the United Kingdom advertised a promotion for customers called KKK Wednesday, which was to be held this week.

KKK, which in this case was intended to stand for "Krispy Kreme Klub," is, of course, more infamously associated with the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist hate group.

The store that created the event, which was meant to allow customers to come into the store to decorate doughnuts, is located in Hull, England.

Serious question: Is the history of the KKK ingrained enough in the collective minds of Britons that they should be expected to notice what they'd done immediately?

My first thought as well.

I very seriously doubt it would be my guess.

I played for a softball team named Keathley's Klan. We had a black guy on our squad. At a world tourney a couple players from a predominately black team came up to him and lit him up for what he was representing. He looked at them blankly and said you don't know John! No way ever was the name a spin off from the chickens associated with with hoods. Next year we did have new unis and played under Keathley's TPS.

Discredits entire story….

I'm not sure I know of any racist organizations in Britain. Should I? Current or throughout history. Maybe someone will name one.

Only one I can think of is the National Front, which kind of aligned with Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s. I don't think they have a strong political presence any more, but racism is still a problem in Britain.
