Camels led 3-0 early only to see the Bluebirds come back to take a 5-3 lead going into the last inning. In the top of the 7th Camels plate 3 runs to take a 6-5 lead. With 2 outs and a runner on 3rd, 8th grader Nathan Schaeffer got the batter to ground out for the final out of the game and notch the camels first victory of the year. Side note, this was the first time I have seen Highland Park since I played on it for the late Tom Morris and cudos to Coach Baioni for the work they put into this field.

Congrats to the Camels on their 1st win. I thought they hit the ball well and played over all a very good game.

 

Tough lose for the Baby Birds! Hopefully, they learned a lot from this game. You have to stay loose and make plays all 7 innings.

 

Morgan Race started on the bump and went 4 innings. Hunter Dreves came in relief and lasted 2 1/3 innings and Sam Hennigan finished.

 

The defense is much improved and getting better every game. They have cut down on errors and mistakes. By the end of year, this team should be exciting to watch.
