Jumper_Dad Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 We let people stay in this country every day for no reason, why are these people facing deportation? Is Germany demanding that they be returned?
All Tell Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Too bad they aren't illegals. Obama would welcome them with open arms.
mexitucky Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 We let people stay in this country every day for no reason, why are these people facing deportation? Is Germany demanding that they be returned? The INS needs easy wins. These guys were easily tracable and they weren't really here for asylum purposes, public safety speaking. I'm not too over the top on this one.
bballfamily Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Just read on theblaze.com that this family has been giving the news they can stay in the US. They have been given "indefinite deferred status". Which means they can stay as long as they do not get into any trouble of any kind.

UKMustangFan Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Not sure why this is an issue. They came to the country under false pretenses. They should've just attempted to come here under the proper channels, and wouldn't have to deal with this. Not allowing you to home-school your children is not "religious persecution" or whatever they were claiming asylum for.
Jim Schue Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Wonder why Germany outlawed home schooling. My guess is religious nuts were going out of their way to "educate" their children in an atmosphere that ignores the reality of science. Kinda like how so many Christian schools cropped up in the US over the last couple decades, which has led is into this current era of willful stupidity and political divide.

So your against religious freedom?

Quite frankly, it's not the governments business where or how me or anyone else educates their children. If someone chooses to send their child to Hogwarts Academy, then so be it.
Jim Schue Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 So your against religious freedom? Nice loaded question. How about you — have you stopped beating your wife yet? Of course I'm not "against religious freedom." That's silly, and you're reading too much into my statement with an eye toward generating false outrage if that's what you extrapolated from it.

Nope, I'm just willing to call it what it is. I'm of the opinion that the reasons for the growth in the (Protestant) Christian school industry and the trend toward homeschooling is because of these reasons: • A desire for an "education" that doesn't include real science • A desire to get kids into a more homogenous (i.e., white) school environment; to "protect" their kids from undesirables • Political reasons Are there some who send their kids to a Christian school or homeschool for legit religious reasons? I'm sure there are. But I think far more of them do it for the reasons I list above, and they frame them in a religious context out of convenience, when their real reasons are sociological and political in nature.
UKMustangFan Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 So your against religious freedom? How is not allowing parents to home-school their children infringing upon religious freedoms?
