CovCath took a 24/17 lead into half time but Holmes came storming back and took a one point lead but then CovCath hit three straight three point baskets and then later made a fourth to expand that seven point lead to eight, with a end of third quarter lead of 38/30 lead.

 

Those treys were by Lenhoff, Shumate and Flood. Got to give some love to #4 of Holmes Brolley who scored 16 points tonight, outstanding night of play young man

 

With the "W" CovCath will next play in the JV Championship Game at CovCath on Monday February 17th .with the tip-off coming at 6pm. Without talking to Mark Wehry of CovCath Internet Radio, I am rather certain that the JV Championship game will be brought to you live over the Internet.

The JV Colonels played a great game. Shumate had one of his better games as he looked for open players instead of driving into traffic which he has somewhat of a habit of doing. Heppler and Sweeney played solid games although at times they had some difficulty with put backs. Part of the problem seemed to be the officiating as some apparent fouls were missed. Either way both players needed to go stronger to the basket . Flood hit a key 3 point basket. Beck got in foul trouble early which was ironic considering the number of fouls or calls which were missed during the game. The rest of the team , Massie, Lyons and Young provided good support off the bench. All in all , a great night for the team. Hopefully, the team play will carry through to the final of the tourney.
