Thought this thread might generate more discussion among our Bluegrass friends. Isn't it the biggest game of the year?

There are not a lot of Fayette/Bluegrass are fans that participate here.

So far this match up has not been played up in the local paper and the overall buzz is not real evident. I would assume its got the attention of Scott County and Georgetown folks and the Henry Clay faithful.

The game should establish the 'king of the hill' in the area for 2013. Scott County is again strong and hoping to get back to Bowling Green. So being the best in the region is stepping stone to their bigger goal for the year. If Scott County has an area of concern it is defense. Though dominating teams they are still allowing around 20 points a game.

For Henry Clay this is chance to make a mark by a program that has is run by a fine coach who is the long tenured coach in the region. A Henry Clay win would definitely be an upset. If they can play their best overall game of the season they have a shot to win this. Elijah Bell can be very dynamic and as noted in this weeks Bluegrass Area update Henry Clay is statistically one of the top defensive teams allowing less than 12 points a game so far. But the Blue Devils have not faced a team with all the quick strike players of Scott County. They will have to stop the big plays and keep a close eye on Daniels.

I like Scott County in this one, but as someone who covers the team it will be interesting to see how the Cards handle adversity if Henry Clay can score a few times early or take a quick lead.

Other than a fake punt for a TD against GRC two weeks on their first drive, SC hasn't had to rebound much. Then again they blocked the XP after the TD in that game so maybe they are capable, they just haven't had the need too.

Still the SC defense is one of the fastest I've seen all year at getting to the football, and if they can contain Bell and Jackson from making plays in space and stop the cutbacks then it could be a long night for HC.

The Cards are coming off a bye week, and a fall break week that has the team getting in tons of extra prep and SC is for the first time 100 % healthy on offense this year. They have their most experienced and maybe best all-around running back in the lineup - He missed the first five games of the season with a knee injury. He had 126 yards in 3 TDs in the first half two weeks ago.

SC 42-28.
