  1. Toothpick, I can't argue the fact that there are several good teams in the west. THe only thing I am saying is that the eastern part of the state has some very solid teams that can compete with anyone in the state at any level with the exception of our 4A class. The only thing I don't agree with you on is Highlands being a WKY team. As far as athletes I would probably agree that they are more athletes probably in other areas, but I will say that our area especially Breathitt County and their coaching staff does more with their athletes than probably anyone in the state. Now let someone argue me on that point.
  2. You keep on complaining about mountain folks being slow and not being able to play football and Beathitt and probably a few others will keep adding state champioships to their colection. By the way besides 1 or 2 championships in the last 10years, what else can the western side say they have. That old saying- It's not what you have done in the past that counts, it's what your doing now.:thumb:
  3. It amazes me how many people have a problem in thinking that there are some mountain teams that can play ball. Those times are legit times and recorded at the combine in hazard. Oh, by the way, I graduated BHS in 1994. If you think real hard, its really quite simple, all these mountains these kids have to cross develops more muscle's, therefore making them stronger and occasionally you will see one that is faster that a turtle. You guy really have a problem with us mountain folks don't ya...
  4. Here are just some of the skill speed we had this past year... Brandon Thomas 4.3 Randy Gaddis 4.5 T.J. Fraley 4.4 Courtney Johnson 4.5 Justin Haddix 4.5 The one thing that Breathitt can say that probably no other WKY team can say is that we have 3 state titles in the last 8 years. Mot bad for a bunch of slow mountain folks. I beleive you are wrong about that matchup at the Male passing league, because Prestonsburg beat us out of it. Since 95 we have won 95 games and lost 14, that is 83% of our games. With a semifinal loss to Danville in 98. THat is pretty good considering that Breathitt didn't even field a football team until the late 70's.
  5. I can't speak for everyone else but I would be willing to bet that Breathitt had as much team speed if not more than anyone in the west. Just ask anyone that played us this year. The scary thing is we lost our most productive receiver at the midway point of the year. Willis was not close to being the fastetst in Eastern Kentucky. That title would go to Mr. Thomas from bobcat land.
