  1. Now when everyone thinks about the 2018 CovCath State Championship Team, they won’t be known for Fredrick or Ruthaz, they will be known as the team Jake Walter, the (“alleged” for now) rapist played on. This tarnishes that team and school unfortunately. And to begin with the victims pain is unimaginable. What a monster. The unconfirmed details I’m hearing make me cringe.
  2. I’m surprised Bracken didn’t press. Might as well have when they were down 20 and see what happens. When I get him I’ll post how many wins Bracken County has at the Fieldhouse.
  3. Just something about playing at Mason County. I don’t know if it’s the gym, or the fact it’s just the name Mason County that Bracken County cannot get over.
  4. Pendleton County #4 Robertson County #6 Mason County #11 in the region.
  5. Bracken County the past 3 games: @ Robertson County - 18 Point loss @ Pendleton County - 18 Point loss @ Mason County - 33 point loss Very confused by this.
  6. Sorry meant 3 years ago in 2016. Mason/Augusta in the Region finals and Bracken lost to both by 5.
  7. I don’t care if the district is down or either the region as long as it is competitive. Hard to believe that just 4 years ago in 2015 the 39th District was the best in the Region.
  8. 1. Campbell County Still at number 1, another solid week for the Camels beating Holy Cross (76-54) and top 9th Region competitor Newport (62-48). Drew Wilson scored 25 and Reid Jolly added 22 in the win over the Indians, while Reid Jolly led with 13 and 10 in their win over the Wildcats. They have games vs. Dixie Heights and Newport Catholic. 2. George Rogers Clark A great rebound this week, beating Madison Central (57-46) where Jordan Graham put up 19, and Pendelton County (78-71) where Jared Wellman led with 22, and Graham following with another 19. The Cardinal defense did a great job holding Dontaie Allen to only 9 points at the half, but ended up with 34 points. 3. Scott The Eagles had a solid win over Mason County (73-41), and a loss to Henry Clay (49-66). No stats on KHSAA. 4. Pendelton County After a tough loss at GRC (71-78), the Wildcats rebounded for a 18 point win over rival Bracken County, where Allen had another stellar night putting up 51 points. The game wasn't close early, and had the Polar Bears down 14-2 to start the game, but they battled back early in 4th to 56-53, but after that it was all Wildcats on a 12-0 run. The host Augusta and play at Robertson this week. 5. Bishop Brossart Good week for Brossart winning a 77-71 overtime game at Lloyd Memorial, following that with an easy win over Ludlow. However, they lost senior forward Allen Jump to an unknown injury. 6. Robertson County The Black Devils beat Bracken County handily after being down by 9 in the 2nd quarter, winning 94-76, where Justin Becker put up 26 points. They then beat Ripley, OH in the Adidas Classic at Robertson County 77-70, led by Alex Schalch's 28 points. 7. Harrison County Without leading scorer Quenton Turley, the Thorobreds took a disheartening loss to Nicholas County in a district seeding game. It is great to see how much more fun a seeded district really is, because this game means something, and puts Nicholas County's foot in the door for a higher seed than the 4 we expected. But Harrison County usually will do this in the regular season, with all the talent they have, they just play... bad. Even without your leading scorer a win over Nicholas County should be expected. 8. Bourbon County A great week for the Colonels, with a nail bitting 59-55 win over Mason County, and a big district win over Paris, for the first time in a long time. 9. Paris A bad week for the Greyhounds losing two games to Bourbon County, and 68-79 to West Jessamine. Jaylen Bryars is averaging 19 points a game. 10. Mason County Still 0-4 for the Royals, losing to Bourbon County and getting blow out by Scott. Still a lot of turnovers for the very inexperienced group. But they could get their first win hosting Bracken County on Tuesday. 11. Montgomery County The Indians still are 0-4, with losses to Paris and West Jessamine this week. They play Bourbon County in a district seeding game next week. 12. Bracken County The Polar Bears dropped to 2-2 on the year after early competitive bouts with Robertson County and Pendleton County that led to late 18 point losses. Their week doesn't get easy as the head to Fieldhouse and try to beat Mason County for the first time in 20 years. They also host MoCo and St. Pat. 13. Calvary Christian The Cougars took a shocking loss to Ludlow 67-71, but beat St Pat by 23 points. Mason Rusch put up 33 points in the winning contest. 14. Augusta The Panthers have lost 3 straight 2 point games. They could easily be 4-2. The head to Falmouth this week, and host Ripley. 15. Nicholas County A solid win for Nicholas County over Harrison, but they still have blowout losses to Augusta and Bracken. 16. Silver Grove The Big Trains dropped 2 games to Bellevue and Villa Madonna. 17. Saint Patrick The young young saints are still winless at 0-4. They should have a good game with Williamstown this week.
