2016-17 Pick 10 Contest (Week #9) There are ten games and all you have to do is pick the winner of all ten games. We (the staff at BluegrassPreps.com) will choose one Super Game each week worth 5 points. Next, out of the remaining nine games, you have to pick two bonus games which will be worth 3 points each. Finally, you need to pick the winner of the remaining seven games which will all be worth 1 point each. There will be TWO tiebreakers: (1) TOTAL POINTS scored in the 5pt Super Game and (2) Time of post. This contest includes PRIZES from the BGP Store. We will also have an overall winner with the most points at the end of the season. The overall season winner will also receive a PRIZE from the BGP Store. This means weekly participation is crucial! The deadline for all entries is 5pm EDT Friday. [h=2]2016-17 Bluegrass Regional Contest Week 9[/h]Bluegrasspreps.com is giving you a chance to demonstrate your basketball expertise statewide! The Bluegrasspreps Regional contests give you opportunities to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Bluegrass, Louisville, and WKY. This is the Bluegrass Regional contest. We pick the games, and you will pick the winner of each game, assigning your picks a point value of 7-5-3-2-1. The first tiebreaker is picking the team (of the ten teams in the contest) that scores the most points. You don't have to pick the highest scoring team, you just have to pick a team that scores more points than the team(s) picked by the member(s) you are tied with. The second tiebreaker is time. Early bird gets the worm if the contest comes down to the second tiebreaker. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the top two contestants will compete during the special Sweet 16 Contest for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps and a grand prize. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next contestant in order. The more contests you enter, the better your chances of qualifying for the Sweet 16 Contest. If you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. As before the concept is pretty simple--but we have made a couple of changes. The object is still to pick the winners of the 6 games every week. But it's not quite as simple as just picking winners, there is a lot of strategy involved. Here's how it works: Please be sure to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! •Each week you will pick six teams that you believe will win that week. These teams can be from ANY Classification. •Teams chosen must be playing a team from their class or HIGHER. EXCEPTION: You may choose 6A teams that are playing other 6A teams OR 5A teams. •You may only pick an individual team to win one time. For example, if you pick Trinity to win in Week #1 you cannot pick Trinity again the rest of the season. •In past seasons once you missed one game or picked a game that did not meet the contest criteria you were eliminated. This season, however, will be DOUBLE ELIMINATION. It will take 2 missed games to eliminate you. For example if you pick five out of six games in Week #1 you would be eligible to continue on to Week #2. If you miss a second game in Week #2 or any week after that then you are out. Also, if you miss 2 games in one week you are out. •If you cannot submit an entry with 6 teams that are playing a team in their class or higher each game that you cannot submit counts as a miss. •If you do not submit an entry for any week you are out. •Everyone that has one miss or less will be able to advance to the next week. •If you are eliminated or do not compete in any week you will not be eligible to continue. •All teams chosen MUST be playing against an in-state team. Only KY schools playing against KY schools are allowed to be chosen. From this point on if a KY school is playing an out of state school it will count as a loss regardless of the outcome of the game. •The contest will run until there is just one winner. McCreary Central was not placed in a classification during realignment. Because they were previously a 3A team they will continue to be seen as a 3A team. Please choose accordingly if you choose to use a team that is scheduled to play McCreary Central.
