1. Bluegrasspreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your football knowledge statewide! The Bluegrasspreps Regional Pick 'em gives you a chance to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes EACH WEEK. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Lexington/Central Ky, Louisville, and WKY. Each region will have five games to pick from each week. We pick the games, and you will pick the winner of each game, assigning your picks a point value of 7-5-3-2-1. The first tiebreaker is picking the team (of the ten teams in the contest) that scores the most points. You don't have to pick the highest scoring team, you just have to pick a team that scores more points than the team(s) picked by the member(s) you are tied with. The second tiebreaker is time. This is a season long contest and you can enter in any or all regions that you wish. At the end of the regular season, the winner of each region and the next five highest point totals statewide (the Wild cards) will compete during the playoffs for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If you win more than one position in the postseason playoff, then your second slot will go to the next Wild card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive a quality prize. Check here for a reference. The overall state winner after the playoffs will get a grand prize custom made for you. The deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. (ET) Friday. Be sure to post your winners and assign each of them one of the following point values (7-5-3-2-1) based on how strongly you feel that that team will win. (Please note that if your selections are NOT in the specified format, your ENTIRE set of picks will be voided) 7 5 3 2 1 1st Tiebreaker 2nd Tiebreaker: Time of post. The games for Week 3 in the Northern KY Regional contest are: Gallatin County/Bellevue Bishop Brossart/Bracken County Newport Central Catholic/Campbell County Lloyd Memorial/Garrard County Beechwood/Holmes Be sure to pick ONE winner for each game and to indicate the point value! Remember, all entries must be posted by 5 pm (ET) on Friday 8/31/12!
2. Here are the results for this week's Northern Kentucky Regional contest. As always, the results won't be final for 24 hours. All contestants should use that time to check their score for errors. After that time period has passed, the contest is final and the winner should use the following link to claim the prize of choice. If you think your score is incorrect, please send me a PM and I will look into your claim. Click below to claim your prize: Contest Prizes and how to claim your prize! THE RANKINGS: 10) Lloyd Memorial (2A / 4-2) – The Juggernauts hosted 6A Conner this Friday, and lost in a nasty, cold, and rainy game after a 4th quarter touchdown pass by the Cougars. Both teams struggled for yardage all night, and despite two impressive goal line stands by the Lloyd, the Cougars were eventually able to find the endzone with 3:00 remaining in the game. Lloyd travels to Newport on Friday to take on the 2A Wildcats in district competition. 9) Newport Central Catholic (2A / 2-4) – No action this week. The Thoroughbreds take on the 2A Holy Cross Indians this Friday in their first district game of the season. 8) Conner (6A / 5-1) – Conner added another win to their schedule, beating the 2A Lloyd Juggernauts 6-0 in Erlanger on Friday. However, the Cougar offense struggled – particularly in the red – as evidenced by the Juggernauts’ defense successfully making two goal line stands. The weather was against both teams, and the game was scoreless until Conner scored on a tipped pass with 3 minutes left in regulation. The Cougars take on the winless 6A Campbell County Camels on Thursday. 7) Scott (4A / 6-1) – Scott handed out a second beat-down in a row, this time beating the 4A Harrison County Thorobreds in a 43-0 shutout in Taylor Mill. The Eagles had 415 yards total offense, and had a running clock less than half way through the second quarter. The Eagles improved to 6-1, and will be taking on the 4A Bourbon County Colonels at home next Friday after their bye week. Bourbon County is 3-3. 6) Beechwood (1A / 5-1) – Beechwood’s win on Friday came as no surprise, but Tigers’ 49 points in the first quarter were quite a feat, as Beechwood routed the 2A Newport Wildcats 69-24. The Tigers were playing with mostly backups for 3 quarters of the game as they rolled on to coach Noel Rash his 100th win as Beechwood’s skipper. Beechwood certainly appears to be the undisputed top of the small school programs around Northern Kentucky this year, and holds on to the #6 spot in the power rankings. The Tigers have Bellevue this Friday in a district matchup at Bellevue’s Gilligan Stadium. 5) Highlands (5A / 1-5) – No action this week. The Bluebirds take on the 5A Dixie Heights Colonels this week in Edgewood for their first district matchup of the season. 4) Covington Catholic (5A / 1-5) – No action this week. Cov Cath will have their first district matchup on Saturday when they host the 5A Grant County Braves at Wooten Stadium. 3) Cooper (6A / 5-2) – Cooper had their turn against a struggling 5A Dixie Heights team on Friday, and sent the Colonels home from Union with a 35-7 loss. Much like Ryle, however, the Jaguars had a surprisingly rough first half, only scoring once against Dixie in each the first and second quarters. Inclement weather aside, it was surprising to many to see the halftime score, with Cooper only leading 14-7. The Jags were able to add on 3 more touchdowns in the second half, but I have to say I was surprised to see the team who beat 5A Highlands 37-13 only come away from the Dixie game with a 35-7 victory. Cooper still holds on to the #3 spot in Northern Kentucky, and will have their big matchup against district rival Ryle this week to determine which team is king of Union, KY. 2) Ryle (6A / 6-0) – The Raiders took on the winless 6A George Rogers Clark Cardinals, and handed them their 6th loss of the season, beating them 49-10. Interestingly enough, GRC was the first team to score, with a 25 yard first quarter field goal. Ryle answered with a field goal of their own, but was still only winning 10-3 at the half. However, the Raiders obviously put their game back together at halftime, coming out with a monumental 32 point third quarter. A surprising performance all in all by Ryle, but the Raiders hold on to the #2 spot in Northern Kentucky. Ryle hosts 6A Cooper this week, and the game will definitively tell us which team deserves higher billing in the NKY Power Rankings. 1) Simon Kenton (6A / 6-0) – No action this week. Still sitting tight in the #1 spot. The Pioneers take on the 6A Boone County Rebels at Boone County’s Owen Hauck Stadium on Friday in their first district game of the year. Game Of The Week: Cooper (6A) vs. Ryle (6A) The crosstown rivals have been running a very close competition for the second and third spots in Northern Kentucky for most of the regular season, and we’ll finally get to see which team is the best on Friday when the Jags host the Raiders. Trending Up: 4A Scott – The Eagles move up to the #7 spot in the NKY Power Rankings after blanking the 4A Harrison County Thorobreds 43-0 on Friday. The pull ahead of 6A Conner, who beat the Eagles three weeks ago. Scott has a bye this week before hosting 4A Bourbon County next Friday. 2A Walton-Verona – The Bearcats pulled of their 3rd straight win, beating the 2A Owen County Rebels 27-6 on Friday. That’s a shot in the arm for Walton-Verona, who started out the season 0-4. They play the 2A Gallatin County Wildcats on the road this week. Trending Down: 6A Conner – Even with a win this week, the Cougars still drop one spot in the NKY Power Rankings after only managing a single touchdown against the 2A Juggernauts this past Friday in a very sloppy game. The Cougars take on 6A Campbell County this week as they prepare for district competition beginning next week. 2A Newport – Second week in a row on the list for the Wildcats after bleeding out 49 first quarter points at the hands of 1A Beechwood this past Friday in a 69-24 dismantling by the Tigers. Newport takes on 2A Lloyd Memorial this week.
4. Thanks to Orange Leaf Crescent Springs for sponsoring the Northern Kentucky Power Rankings. We encourage everyone to patronize our sponsors, and you can visit them at 2311 Buttermilk Crossing in Crescent Springs. Feel free to bring along this premium coupon when you visit! THE RANKINGS: 10) Newport Central Catholic (2A / 3-4) – New Cath showed more signs of struggle this week in their win over 2A Holy Cross. The game was neck and neck through three quarters of play, and the Breds struggled to find much rhythm. Jacob Smith did pull off a solid 193 yards rushing this week, but the fact remains, New Cath’s reliance on Smith will only get them so far, as evidenced by their 3-2 record with Smith in the backfield, and 3-4 record overall. New Cath will be fighting it out with 2A Lloyd Memorial this week in their second district matchup of the season. 9) Lloyd Memorial (2A / 5-2) – This week the Juggernauts added their name to the list of teams that have thumped 2A Newport this season, winning 42-7 on Friday. Lloyd has proven several times over that they mean business on the gridiron, and their near 500 yards on offense this week goes to show they are doing everything they can to make a run at the 2A playoffs this season. With 2A Newport Catholic appearing as their biggest opponent in district competition, the Juggs are going horse-hunting this Friday when they take on New Cath on the road. 7T) Conner (6A / 6-1) – Conner hosted 6A Campbell County this past Friday, and sent the Camels home with a loss. The Camels have had an obvious struggle this season, and the Cougars held them right at their season average 14 points, while putting up 36 points of their own for the win. With such a close game played on Sept. 11th between Conner and 4A Scott it’s still incredibly hard to put a point on which team should be ranked higher, so with a solid performance by Conner this week and no game played by Scott, I’ve got to put the two teams as a tie. Conner takes on 6A Ryle on the road this week. 7T) Scott (4A / 6-1) – No action this week. The Eagles are sitting at 6-1, and will be taking on the 4A Bourbon County Colonels at home on Friday. Bourbon County is 3-3. 6) Beechwood (1A / 6-1) – Beechwood rolled to their sixth win of the season, beating their 1A district competitor Bellevue Tigers 49-0 on the road. With the better part of 500 offensive yards, Beechwood is continuing to flex their muscles, and are building steam as they approach the playoffs. The Tigers will welcome the 1A Ludlow Panthers to Ft. Mitchell on Friday. 5) Highlands (5A / 2-5) – The Bluebirds left David Cecil Memorial Stadium with a solid 42-7 victory over 5A Dixie Heights on Friday. Nonetheless, there were quite a few eyebrows raised on Friday night when Highlands walked into the locker room at halftime only leading 7-0 after struggling to move the ball in the first two quarters. They clearly got their game together in the second half, but the Birds will have some work to do to prepare for the rival 5A Covington Catholic Colonels who will be trying to get their first win against Highlands since 2006. 4) Covington Catholic (5A / 2-5) – Cov Cath ticked off their second win of the season this week against the 5A Grant County Braves in a Saturday game in Park Hills. Cov Cath rushed for over 240 yards, and passed for another 180 yards in a 47-9 victory over the Braves. One new development for the Colonels this week was the addition of Cam Pitzer to Cov Cath’s offense. Pitzer brought some new life to the Colonels’ struggling receiving game, with 5 catches and 2 touchdown receptions. Cov Cath takes on their arch-rivals this Saturday when they play the 5A Highlands Bluebirds in Park Hills. 3) Ryle (6A / 6-1) – Ryle was handed their first loss of the season this past Friday, and there’s no denying that there must be some disappointed Raider fans this week seeing as not only was it a district loss, but it also was suffered at the hands of their hometown rival, 6A Cooper. The game was highly debated in the days leading up to Friday night, but the Raiders struggled to get their usual passing game moving against the Cooper defense, and they struggled with the Jaguar passing game in turn. The Raiders look to bounce back this week against 6A Conner. 2) Cooper (6A / 6-2) – Cooper has proved live and in person that they are the best team in Union, KY this year. Even after star running back Torrey Cordell-Armstrong left injured only moments into the game, the Jags were able to press forward with 220 yards in the air and another 74 on the ground. Cooper also held 6A Ryle’s high powered passing game to only 132 yards, and 58 yards on the ground. Junior receiver Dante Hendrix caught for 153 yards and 1 touchdown in the 27-21 win over the Raiders. Cooper plays at 6A Boone County on Friday. 1) Simon Kenton (6A / 7-0) – Simon Kenton played a far inferior 6A Boone County team this week in their first district matchup, and many folks seemed a bit surprised at the 37-13 final score. However, with the score at 30-0 less than 13 minutes into the game, the Pioneers started switching in their backups. The Pioneers had 9 different offensive players with their hands on the ball on Friday totaling for over 300 yards on offense, and 18 different defensive players with tackles, and allowing less than 150 yards on defense. Simon Kenton will have their second and final district game this week against 6A Campbell County. Game Of The Week: Covington Catholic (5A) vs. Highlands (5A) This rivalry may not impress many, with Highlands having won every game between these two since 2006, but to the folks in Park Hills and Ft. Thomas, this is often THE matchup of the regular season, regardless of records coming into the game. There’s no denying that both of these teams have struggled thus far this season, but there are many people wondering if this is finally going to be the game that Cov Cath is going to get over the recent hump. Kickoff is at 1:00pm on Saturday in Park Hills. Trending Up: 1A Beechwood – The Tigers are rolling, and are looking more and more like Bowling Green is in their future. 2A Lloyd Memorial – Lloyd is starting to flex their muscles, and they’re looking like they’re going to have their team warmed up and ready right on schedule for the playoffs. Trending Down: 4A Holmes – The Bulldogs are having a very, very difficult season this year, and lost their 5th game of the season this week to 4A Bourbon County. 6A Ryle – They played tough this week, but Ryle drops a spot in the rankings this week after losing to 6A district rival Cooper.
5. Thanks to Northern Kentucky Family & Cosmetic Dentistry -"Making Northern Kentucky Smile" for sponsoring our 2017 Northern Kentucky Power Rankings! We encourage everyone to patronize all of our sponsors, and you can visit Northern Kentucky Family & Cosmetic Dentistry at 2047 Centennial Boulevard in Independence, KY. THE RANKINGS: 1) 5A Covington Catholic (9-0) – Covington Catholic won their district for a second year in a row by winning 49-9 on Friday over the 5A Dixie Heights Colonels (3-6). The Colonels have started a running clock on all six of their Kentucky opponents thus far this year. Stats have not yet been reported by Cov Cath, but in the first quarter of action, the blue Colonels scored 5 touchdowns via 5 different players: AJ Mayer, Malachi Pike, Luke Lenihan, Casey McGinness, and Grant Dyer. McGinness added a 2nd TD in the 3rd quarter, and soph QB Daniel Felix accounted for the 7th and final Cov Cath TD. The Colonels take on 6A Campbell County (6-3) this Friday to wrap up the regular season. 2) 6A Ryle (7-2) – The Raiders are celebrating their second straight win over the 6A Simon Kenton (9-1) this week, after beating the Pioneers 56-38 to once again regain the top spot in 6A. And there’s no talking about this game without mentioning RB Jake Chisholm, who carried 42 times for 449yds and 6 TDs on Friday, putting him at #7 on the KHSAA’s all-time list of single game rushing records, and bringing his name a little closer to the limelight in the hunt for this year’s Mr. Football award. DB Zach Rytlewski led the defense with 15 tackles in the game. Ryle has 5A Dixie Heights (3-6) this week in their regular season closer. 3) 6A Simon Kenton (9-1) – Spoiled again. Simon Kenton fought their way through 9 straight wins, but in the final game of their season, the Pioneers just couldn’t best 6A Ryle (7-2), losing 56-38 to the Raiders. Despite the disappointing loss, QB Matt Shearer still went 19-29 with 307yds and 3 TDs passing. Defensively, Will Parks led with 15 tackles, JJ Courtney had 11 tackles, and Clay Cogswell had 10 tackles. Simon Kenton has their bye week this week, and will open their playoff run at home on November 3rd against 6A Jeffersontown (3-6). 4) 1A Beechwood (7-2) – Beechwood once again won their 1A district with a 63-6 win on Friday over 1A Dayton (1-8). The Tigers beat their district competition by a combined 175-6 this season. QB Braydon Burch connected with receivers 5 times for 159yds and 2 TDs, and RB James Davis carried the ball 4 times for 101yds and 1 TD. Logan Castleman, Harrison Heist, Noah Howard, and Luke Jeffries all rushed for 1 TD a piece as well. On defense, there were two pick-6 TDs, scored by Harrison Heist and Jake Massie. Beechwood finishes up the regular season this week in their annual rivalry match on Friday against 2A Newport Central Catholic (5-4). 5) 6A Campbell County (6-3) – Campbell County finished out their district play on Friday, finishing in second place after winning 54-7 over 6A Boone County (1-8). QB Austin Hoeh was 13-18 passing for 243yds and 4 TDs. There were 5 different players who scored for the Camels, with RB Alex Dowds ending up the only player to score more than once, with 1 TD rushing and 1 TD receiving. Campbell County will conclude their regular season this week with a big game against the undefeated 5A Covington Catholic Colonels (9-0). 6) 5A Highlands (4-5) – The Birds had a long bus ride on Friday down to Bowling Green to take on 5A Greenwood (3-6), and no doubt the ride was made a little shorter on the way home after Highlands bested 47-35. QB Carl Schoellman and backup QB Grady Cramern combined to pass for over 200 yards in the game, but all 5 of the offensive TDs were scored by RB Cooper Schwalbach, who carried 24 times for 181yds and 5 TDs. Casey Green added a defensive pick-6 TD for the Highlands defense. The Bluebirds will be fighting to fend off a losing regular season record when they take on 6A Boone County (1-8) on Friday in their closer. 7) 6A Conner (4-5) – The Cougars have continued to struggle for consistency this season, and it once again showed when Conner was beaten 21-20 by 6A Cooper (2-7) on Friday. QB Cooper Gullion was 11-20 with 108yds and 1 TD passing and another TD Rushing. Jared Hicks had 1 TD receiving, and Matt Simpson picked up a Conner fumble and ran it in for Conner’s other TD. The Cougars will close out their regular season in Lexington on Friday as the first NKY football program to take on 6A Frederick Douglass (7-2) in Douglass’ first year as a school. 8) 2A Lloyd Memorial (7-2) – The Juggernauts are celebrating big in Erlanger after ending a longtime drought in district titles with a Friday night win over 2A Covington Holy Cross (0-10). They added an exclamation point with their biggest win of the season, beating the Indians 62-13. QB Jordan Fann had 4 completions, good for 132yds and 2 TDs, and rushed for another 97yds and 2 TDs. Receiver Isaiah Voet had 2 receptions for 119yds and a TD on each reception. Travon Mason rushed for 208yds and 3 TDs, and Anthony Deras had 98yds and 2 TDs in the win. Lloyd will close out their regular season against 4A Scott (6-3). 9) 2A Newport Central Catholic (5-4) – After a surprise district loss on Friday the 13th to 2A Lloyd Memorial (7-2), the Breds came back on Friday with a chip on their shoulder and put a 50-6 shellacking on crosstown rival 2A Newport (2-7). QB Paul Kremer went 7-8 with 88yds and 2 TDs passing, and backup QB Hunter Cain went 2-2 with 57yds and 1 TD in the air. RB Kyle Kelly rushed 9 times for 136yds and 3 TDs in the win. While there were no immediate standouts on the defensive side, the Breds D had a whopping 32 players with tackles in the game – that’s over half of their 57-man roster with tackles. New Cath will finish their regular season on the road this Friday against 1A rival Beechwood (7-2). 10) 4A Scott (6-3) – The Eagles added another win to their record on Friday with a 36-6 win over 4A Holmes (2-7). QB Chad Ohmer went 3-4 passing for 110yds and 2 TDs. Scott once again showed their ability to pull out an array of offensive tools, with no one player accounting for over 97yds in the game. 11 different players rushed the ball, and 3 players had receptions. TDs were added by David Patrick, Quincy Perrin and Alex Thurza on the ground, and David Patrick and Nelson Perrin both added TDs receiving. The Eagles finish up the regular season on Friday against 2A Lloyd Memorial (7-2). GAME OF THE WEEK: 2A Lloyd Memorial (7-2) vs. 4A Scott (6-3) Lloyd will be rolling into the game on a high after winning their 2A district after a long dry-spell, and Scott is coming in as the champion of their own district in 4A. The Eagles lost early in the season to 2A Newport Central Catholic, and the Juggernaughts beat the Breds two weeks ago in an upset. Both teams lost to 6A Conner, Lloyd losing by 12 and Scott losing by 20. Both teams beat 2A Covington Holy Cross with identical scores of 62-13, and both teams beat 4A Holmes with identical scores of 36-6. Should make for a close game! TRENDING UP: 2A Lloyd Memorial (7-2) – The Juggs were undefeated in their 2A district, winning Friday against 2A Covington Holy Cross. This week they play 4A Scott (6-3). 6A Ryle (7-2) – The Raiders beat an undefeated 6A Simon Kenton team on Friday to become the #1 6A team in NKY. This week they play 5A Dixie Heights (3-6). TRENDING DOWN: 4A Holmes (2-7) – The Bulldogs continued a 3 game skid with a loss on Friday to 4A Scott. This week they play 2A Newport (2-7). 6A Simon Kenton (9-1) – The Pioneers missed out on a perfect regular season again by losing on Friday to 6A Ryle (7-2). They have the week off before beginning their playoff bid on Nov. 3 against 6A Jeffersontown (3-6). PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RB Jake Chisholm (Ryle) – I would be extremely remiss if I didn’t make a point of mentioning Jake Chisholm in the power rankings this week. Jake was an integral part of Ryle’s big win over Simon Kenton this week, carrying the ball 42 times for 449yds and 6 TDs. That performance places him at #7 all-time in the KHSAA’s record book for yards gained in a single game. Congratulations Jake!
6. BluegrassPreps.com is giving you a chance to show off your football knowledge statewide! The BluegrassPreps Regional Contests give you chances to pick games in different parts of the state for prizes each week of the regular season. There will be five regional contests every week. You will have a chance to pick the winners in each region -- NKY, EKY, Lexington/Central KY, Louisville, and WKY. This is the NKY Contest. At the end of the regular season, the top two finishers in each region will compete during the playoffs for statewide bragging rights on Bluegrasspreps. If a contestant qualifies in more than one region, then the highest point total statewide from a non-qualifying contestant will advance as a Wild Card. The best part is, if you win a weekly contest, you will receive your choice of BGP merchandise! There will also be merchandise for the overall season winner. The deadline for all entries is 5:00pm EST Friday. GAME OF THE WEEK RECAP: WEEK 6 2A Walton-Verona vs. 1A Paintsville There have been some questions about strength of schedule for Walton-Verona in recent seasons while the Bearcats have enjoyed good success during the regular season, but have had early exits from the 2A playoffs. After Trimble County cancelled their season, Walton-Verona scrambled to fill the opening with their schedule by adding a game against 1A Paintsville (5-2). Paintsville is a traditional power in the 1A class, and proved their strength with a 27-15 win over the Bearcats, despite Walton-Verona taking an early 2 touchdown lead in the 1st quarter of the game. GAME OF THE WEEK: WEEK 7 6A Cooper vs. 6A Ryle Both teams have been facing their fair share of struggles in the 2018 season, Ryle with only 1 win and Cooper with 2. All the same, these two teams are going to be battling it out for the sake of pride in Union this Friday. PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WEEK 6 RB Logan Castleman (1A Beechwood) – Logan had a stellar game on Friday to help the Beechwood Tigers beat 6A Simon Kenton on Friday. Caleb was 19-30 passing for 385yds and 3 TDs. WR Jack Coldiron stacked up 145yds and 1 TD receiving, and TE Michael Mayer added 129yds and 2 TDs receiving, while RB Casey McGinness came in strong, as always, with 158yds rushing for 2 TDs. Highlands hosts 5A district rival Covington Catholic (7-0) on Friday. 3) 1A Beechwood (5-2) – It was a quick game on Thursday, and Beechwood didn’t play the kindest of hosts, sending 1A Bellevue (4-3) home with a 63-0 shutout loss. The Tigers offense had 464 total yards in the game. Starting QB Cam Hergott passed 8 times for 6 receptions, 139yds and 1 TD, and rushed for another 33yds. No defensive stats have been reported for the game. QB Jared Hicks was 20-34 passing for 194yds, and Christian Webster rushed for 79yds on 16 carries and had the team’s only TD. The remaining 3 points came on a field goal by kicker Teddy Schul. TRENDING DOWN: 1A Dayton (Previously Un-Ranked) – The Greendevils started out the season with less than 30 players on their roster, and due to ongoing injuries, Dayton was forced to forfeit their game last week against 1A Ludlow (5-2). GAME OF THE WEEK RECAP: WEEK 7 6A Cooper vs. 6A Ryle Both teams are obviously working on rebuilding this season, with each having a 2-5 record at this point, but Ryle defended their title as the best team in Union for a third year straight by beating the Cooper Jaguars 26-7 last week. GAME OF THE WEEK: WEEK 8 5A Covington Catholic vs. 5A Highlands The game of the week is going to be #1 versus #2 this week in the NKY Power Rankings, with one of Northern Kentucky’s premier rivalries facing off in Fort Thomas on Friday night when Highlands (6-1) hosts Covington Catholic (7-0). This game has gone in the Bluebirds’ favor the vast majority of the meetings in the last decade, but the Colonels have managed to beat Birds the two time they’ve faced one another in the last two seasons. This won’t be one to miss. PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WEEK 7 QB Caleb Jacob (5A Covington Catholic) – Caleb stepped into some big shoes this season, coming in as a sophomore to replace All-State QB AJ Mayer, and has done a heck of a job.
