  1. Lone Oak had an opportunity to win the came but couldn't capitalize on Ft. Campbell's mistakes. Lone Oak had a couple of costly turnovers & a few drop balls (one in the end zone) that really hurt. Lone Oak has bridged the gap & can play with anyone in the district. I think Lone Oak will beat Trigg Co @ home for the number 3 seed. I believe Caldwell will beat Ft. Campbell for the number 1 seed on the road next week. The playoffs should really be interesting this year.
  2. How can #3 Trigg County (70.0) be ranked ahead of #6 Ft. Campbell (64.7) whenever Ft Campbell came from 21 points down on the road to defeat Trigg County 28 to 21 ????? Doesnt make sense to me.
  3. Cory Robinson (6'1" 180 Jr.) QB for Lone Oak. He was 22 of 28 for 352 yards, 4 TD's, he had 94 yards rushing with 3 TD's in Lone Oak's 49 to 26 win over Heath.
  4. Any thoughts, comments or predictions ? I believe the loser of this game will not reach the playoffs. This shapes up to be a really interesting game. Lone Oak struggled last week on the road at Caldwell County. Running the football is Lone Oak's achilles heel. They have the ability to put up lots of points thru the airways but must find a way to get the ground attack going or its going to be tough scoring points against a team with a solid defense. Heath seems to be improving each week & has a talented running back (Chad Wright). However, I think Coach Haskins gets his troops going & Lone Oak wins.
  5. Hats off to Caldwell County as they simply outplayed Lone Oak. Caldwell has much improved since I watched them play Mayfield in the Alliance Bowl. Lone Oak came out of the gate out of sync & couldn't run the ball against a solid Caldwell County defense. I thought Caldwell did an excellent job on play calling & spreading the ball out & made the Lone Oak defense pay. The win puts Caldwell in great shape for the district & Lone Oak definetly behind the 8 ball. A rematch is possibly in the playoffs but Lone Oak must develop a running game or they will not make the playoffs. Good luck Tigers the rest of the season & hopefully our paths will cross again in November.
  6. Lone Oak is a fairly deep team. However. we have 3 or 4 kids that go both ways. Lone Oak is still a young team. We only start 2 seniors. I feel some of our sophmores are still a year away and that hurts us. We have more team speed this year & are a stronger squad. We were just not able to compete with Marshall last week. I figure Caldwell will spread it out on offense & throw a lot of short passes. I really like the Williams kid. I hope we can stop Wilson & Webster from pressuring our quarterback. With the loss of Bell, someone may step up and play a big game that scares me.
  7. Bell not playing really hurts Caldwell County. I think it will be a lower scoring game than I had orginally thought. I think Lone Oak wins by a couple of touchdowns 27 to 13
  8. BIG SCHOOLS 1. Bowling Green 2. Christian Co. 3. Warren Central 4. Marshall Co. 5. Warren East 6. Apollo 7. Graves Co. 8. Henderson Co. 9. Hopkinsville 10. Paducah Tilghman SMALL SCHOOLS 1. Mayfield 2. Trigg Co. 3. Russellville 4. Fort Campbell 5. Owensboro Catholic 6. Lone Oak 7. Caldwell Co. 8. Metcalfe Co. 9. Fulton Co. 10. Hancock
  9. What's up with Bell? Is it academics or something else? We were looking forward to facing him this year.
  10. Don't forget Lone Oak was missing its top running back before last years game (Kory Stiles torn ACL). However, I thought Caldwell was probably a better team last year than Lone Oak. I think if Lone Oak is able to run the ball against Caldwell that will open up the airways where Lone Oak should have an advantage. Lone Oak must contain Bell & put pressure on Will Barnes. I'm predicting a high scoring but close game. Lone Oak 31 Caldwell 27
  11. Any thoughts, comments or predictions? I forsee this game as being a real battle between two quality teams. This game has significant playoff implications in the district race. Should be a real dandy.
  12. Hats off to #3 Mr. Williams & the rest of the Marshall County Marshalls. Lone Oak couldn't stop Williams. I thought Lone Oak would have played a better game but the depth factor come into play. However, Lone Oak must regroup & get prepared for the Caldwell County Tigers @ Caldwell next Friday. Should be an interesting matchup. Marshall Co shouldn't be tested until the last 3 games of their season. Alan Williams deserves some consideration for all-state running back & should be a front runner for Mr. Football next season.
  13. 5th is the 1st team & 9th is the 2nd team. Just Joking. However, Lone Oak is worthy of 5th Place at the present time. I think they will beat Caldwell Co on the road next week & they have an excellent chance of beating Trigg Co on Oct 27th at home. Beware of the Flash the next few years. Could possibly be a 2nd seed in the playoffs this year
  14. Marshall County & Ft. Campbell will definetly be the two toughest opponents on Lone Oak's schedule this season. I think Lone Oak will have a real good shot at beating Caldwell Co (away) & Trigg Co (home) & should win the rest of their games. Good chance of finishing 8-2 or 7-3 this season.
  15. The best 5 that I've seen so far are : Landon Heath Mayfield Sr. 6'4" 295 lbs Cody Widelski Graves Co Sr. 6'4" 290 lbs John Carr Lone Oak Jr. 6'3" 275 lbs Kyle Manley Marshall Co Sr. 6'2" 235 lbs Ben Koenig Trigg Co Jr. 6'3" 255 lbs
  16. Don't worry about the purple flash arm tackling # 3 Williams. Watch #23 Tucker & #31 Hobbs & the rest of the purple flash defenders. Tucker knows how to tackle Just ask any team the Flash has faced. I personally see it being a very close game. The letdown factor could possible come into play. Last year Lone Oak gave Marshall Co quite a battle for 18 minutes but fell apart just before the half ended. Lone Oak is a much improved team & has a high potent offense & a stingy/scrappy defense & the good new for next year is almost everybody is back (19 starting positions return). Upset special Lone Oak 24 Marshall 21
  17. Final Score Lone Oak 42 - Murray 7 Jon Jon Wilson left early due to injury; another player left in an ambulance. Score could have been much higher; Lone Oak pulled all the starters early in the 3rd quarter. Lone Oak QB, Corey Robinson (jr.) 8 for 12 passing & threw 291 yards with 4 TD's; he also rushed for 72 yds. & 1 TD. WR, Davin Ramage (sr.) caught 5 passes for 219 yds. & scored 2 TD's. Lone Oak will have a true test against Marshall County at Marshall Co. next week.
  18. Last year Lone Oak spanked Murray at Roy Stewart Stadium. I suspect it will be the same outcome again this year, as long as the Oakers stingy defense can contain Jon Jon Wilson & keep him under 100 yards rushing. Lone Oak 34 Murray 7
  19. Lone Oak has a good core of receivers Davin Ramage, Sr.-tough & experienced solid wide out Daniel Edwards, Jr.-excellent hands Jamarielle Brown, Soph.-could be one of the best receivers in W.KY-6'2" & has a 37" vert. jump John Pierce, Jr.-a versatile tight end
  20. Lone Oak should be strong upfront the next couple of years: LT-Chase Fox 6'6" 260lb.- Jr. (vastly improved, hasn't reached his potential yet) LG-Jeff Prescott 6'1" 270lb.- Soph. (impressive youngster) C-Kyler Branaum 6' 210lb.-Jr. (runs 4.90/40-very physical) RG-Jon Myre 5'10" 260lb.-Jr. (benches 325 & started as soph.-quick off the ball) RT-John Carr 6'2" 270lb.-Jr. (benches 300 & started as soph.-good pass blocker) TE-John Pierce 6'3" 200lb.-Jr. (excellent blocker & a go-to player, started as soph.) Should give QB Corey Robinson plenty of time to find one of his talented receivers.
  21. #5 Corey Robinson, Junior QB for Lone Oak 6'2" 185lbs., probably will emerge as the best QB in Western KY. Strong arm, can throw a football 65-70 yds. Should put up big numbers this year. Should have a strong offensive line in front of him with talented, albeit young receivers and backs.
  22. Lone Oak has beat Caldwell County the past 2 years: 28-21 and 7-0. Should be a good game Sept. 8 @ Caldwell. Lone Oak has size, strength, and speed--should be a fun team to watch this year and could be the sleeper in Western KY. Don't be suprised if Lone Oak hosts a playoff game in Nov. Beware of Lone Oak, they will make some noise these next few years.
