  1. I really hate to harp on this but, gentlemen one game at a time, one win at a time and getting better after each practice and game. Dixie is the game this week, keep your heads and minds on this week's game as when you worry/think about the future, you lose all sight of the present.

  4. Beat Dixie by 99 or by 1 gentlemen, for it doesn't matter by how many, just that you win!

Keep your ears shut to strangers, over zealous fans, and those who think games are won on paper, just play your game, listen to your Coaches, keep playing hard and remember you are a team of many and not of just 1 or 2.

Continue to keep that highway out in front of CovCath and Dixie to be known as The CovCath Hwy, as CovCath owns that road.

  5. Final from Highlands.

The Colonels continue their dominance over the Bluebirds.

Zero points scored this year by the Birds in JV/Varsity vs CovCath. Wow !!!!

It was a little better or worse per your team but it was 10 straight quarters that CovCath shutout Highlands.

HHS Frosh scored 12 points in the 1st and 2nd quarters, none in 3th and 4th 2 scoreless quarters

HHS JV 00 points scored, 4 scoreless quarters

HHS Varsity points scored, 4 scoreless quarters

    2+4+4=10

  8. The real football states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Texas use separate divisions or enrollment multipliers to offset the competitive imbalance between publics and privates. Regardless of rules, its simply not a level playing field. Money....yes money wins football games. Compilation of how all 5 states handle competitive balance - cleveland.com

Money? Why did I sell candy bars back in the day to have the 1st football team at CovCath.

Why did it take so many years to get our first football field?

Why did it take so many years to get turf?

Why did it take so many years to get Lights?

Why to this day does Newport Central Catholic, Cov Holy Cross don't even have football fields at their school, if all the privates have so much money?

  9. BTW since Boone County has no Independent school districts like Kenton and Campbell Co they do have a competitive advantage in all the non classified sports. All those Independent school districts and County school districts competing for kids and dividing all that talent while Boone Co has just those 4 massive 6A schools. Maybe there should be some rule against that?

    Walton Verona?

  10. There are few ways to play for a HS out of YOUR District in Boone County and as a former Boone County resident here are some of the ways I have seen and been told about.

    1) Work for the Board of Education. If you work for the Board your child can go to any school of your choice, unlike you a tax paying citizen who has no choice in the matter Oh, you don't have to be a teacher, be a bus driver, work in the cafeteria, school aid, Janitor, lots of jobs you can have.

    2) Say what you want but think of Ms. Moss of Ryle then of Boone County

    3) I knew people who used other family address (all for non sports kids) to attend a different Boone County HS.

    4) Don't own a home, live in an apartment, you can move every year to a different school.

The best idea and I have preached this for years, VOTE FOR BOARD MEMBERS WHO AGREE WITH YOU ON ISSUE THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU. ATTEND BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETINGS AND LET THEM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, RUN FOR A BOARD SEAT IF YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU THINK IS FAIR.

  11. Really? ...I sure don't recall many. I remember a lot of "maybe THIS will be the year" years in the course of the last decade or so, but I don't recall many "Cov Cath is the favorite" years. Last season and 2006 are the only times I can really remember Cov Cath being anywhere near favorite for the game.

    Anyone else?

I honestly don't think in 2006 that CovCath was suppose to win that 1st game at HHS, the 2nd game in the playoffs, now that was a different story!
