  1. Whiffle ball.

Growing up in Cincinnati Reds Big Red Machine country, we played whiffle ball EVERY day in the summer.  Left field was a short fence, but the two apple trees just on the other side of the fence kept a lot of balls in play.  In right field, the roof of my friend’s house was a home run, but it took a mega shot to get there.  Any breaks we took were filled with trading baseball cards.

    Great, great memories!

  2. 16 minutes ago, TheDeuce said:

This storm is a gigantic bust. We’ve been fed anywhere from 4-18” by some meteorologists. Pretty disappointing and a great example of why people don’t trust weather reports, regardless of how unfair that is.

Way to quit and raise the surrender flag in the middle of the second quarter.

If you want it, I'd say it's coming.

  3. It has been a very long time for the Blue Devils.

With just under 4 minutes left, it was looking very favorable for Henry Clay.  Their defense then gave up a 3rd and 19 conversion and a long touchdown pass to go down by four.    During the next series, Bryan Station scored on a pick six.   😞

Winning close football games is nearly as much a mental mind-set as a physical one.  The Blue Devils need to learn how to win again.

  4. He wants to show his diversity to play inside or outside to improve his NBA stock. The NBA drafts players on potential and Haarms continues to improve. You can't teach or coach 7 foot 3 inches tall. Yes, he will be in the NBA in 2021 after playing for former UK and NBA big man Mark Pope. I think Haarms bought into Mark Pope's pitch that he knows what it takes and can teach him how to be an NBA big man after just one year in Provo. UK can't get 'em all!

  5. I love the sound of irons touching each other in the golf bag. Reminds me of the good old days when I walked and carried my clubs or going to a tournament and hearing the caddies carry the clubs.

  6. It sounds like the only thing Kentucky has on Indiana is a better, one class high school basketball tournament (Sweet Sixteen).

I might better understand Indiana's decision to go to multiple classes after learning that Carmel High School has nearly 5000 students in grades 9-12. It doesn't quite seem fair that a small town high school with, say, 300 students in grades 9-12 would have to tackle that giant.

Nonetheless, Kentucky's idea of crowning just one champion is the best. Many in Indiana wishes their tournament didn't go to multiple classes because the tournament has not been the same since the change.

  7. I used some of my stimulus check money to buy new Cleveland HB Launcher Hybrid Irons. The arrived today and felt really good at the driving range.

I need some head-covers. What is a cheap website to buy them at?

Just out of curiosity, why do you need head covers for irons?

It makes sense with your driver, utility clubs, and putter because they can get scratched, but not irons. It just seems to be cumbersome to have to take them off and put them back on after each shot with your irons.

I recommend just going bareback with the irons. :thumb:

  8. If he ends up at Villanova or Notre Dame then wanting to be on the west coast was just a story. I am surprised to not see Gonzaga, Washington or USC on the list.

    Exactly.

Cal said he was homesick and wanted to transfer back to the West Coast.

Villanova must be the west coast of Philadelphia. :) :)

Being a scorer, Johnny wants to go somewhere where he can log minutes and score. I personally think he is really good and will light it up at his next stop before the NBA comes calling.

  9. It's no different than the current football format. For example Somerset, Danville and Lex Christian are all in the same district...after round 2 only one is left. There will always be loaded districts and weak districts, but if you still have to beat a strong team at some point to advance. Does it really matter if it's in the first round of the district or the first round of the region?

You forgot to mention Washington County. :):)
