Mad Dog and Stephen A just had their top five college basketball destinations for coaches.

Lexington wasn’t on either one of them.

They have obviously been to Lexington. 😎

Drew evidently wasn't on the plane...possibly was someone on his behalf coming to Lexington.

Sounds like to me maybe Mitch just went to Waco and is on the way back?

Which is a bit strange to me. Not saying it's a perfect hire but, Drew is a top five coach in the game with a chip to go with it. Have to think it would be the strongest resume of any candidate hired by Kentucky previously.

    Correct.

I agree with you, but I am not sure why he will be...I know a lot of the fan base can be dillusional, but if they thought they would have their pick of Hurley, Wright or Stephens...dilluisional is an under statement.

But that's exactly what many thought.

A few of those people probably even thought any of those three would crawl to Lexington.

Money cannot buy happiness. It can sure as hell put a good down payment on it though.

My favorite line is: Money can't buy happiness. But it can buy stuff, and stuff makes me happy.

I would love to see Hurely, but I think Scott Drew will be a fantastic hire as well.  I like Drew better than Donovan.  Donovan has 0 recruiting connections with this era of HS/College Athletes.  With the current landscape of what have you done for me lately that is worrisome.

Hopefuly by Friday we our guy!

I agree about Donovan vs. Drew.

OK, gotcha now. It's not about the NCAA violations. Your opposition to Miller is about the coaching record. I thought you were anti Miller because of the NCAA violations.

Even if you are talking about the NCAA violations, Miller and Pitino aren't the same, IMO.

How does Sean Miller even get in this conversation?

Last 5 years NCAA record while at Arizona he missed last 2 tournaments that were played.  Had 2 first round losses and won two games the other year.

As far as, he was just doing what's legal now. That's a crazy argument, he still willingly broke the rules in place at the time.

Please No Sean Miller at UK!!!

I'm glad to finally see someone else with this mindset. There was a faction of the Louisville fan base that wanted Will Wade and I was adamantly against it.

It's completely irrelevant that what they did is legal now. They knew the rules, willingly broke them, and didn't even have anything to show for it.

    It's a hard no.

I've said it a few times and I will say it again. UL got the exact type of guy they needed right now.

    100%.

Will that equate to wins? Who knows... But we needed a jolt of energy, someone that AT LEAST acted like they cared that they were the head coach at Louisville. So far, in that regard, Kelsey has been a grand slam hire.

Surely Drew won't leave Baylor to come to Kentucky after turning down (not interested) in the coaching job at Louisville would he. 😀

I couldn’t care less, to be honest. His personality couldn’t be farther from what’s needed at Louisville, and he doesn’t worry me in the least about what he will do at UK.

UK fans will lose their mind if Will Wade is the next coach. I think many are comfortable and have come to terms that it will probably be Scott Drew, or they are sure hoping it will be because they don't want to start digging into the 2nd tier.

I agree with this. The big names aren't coming. Scott Drew is the last opportunity for a hire that BBN won't completely riot over.

I think Donovan will be our guy. If Mitch gets Drew I think a lot of fans would revolt (I.e. Schiano to Tennessee). IF Donovan says no you would have to pivot to a tier of coaches like Sean Miller, Will Wade, or T.J. Otzelberger because more than likely UConn throws a bag and Hurley says no.

UK fans would revolt over a guy with a title (Drew), but not over guys who cheated and don't have anything to show for it (Miller, Wade)?

Scott Drew would be another notch in the rivalry as well. The coach who turned down Louisville, goes to Kentucky.

    Meh, maybe.

While Drew was the "top priority," I didn't feel like most Louisville fans were in love with the idea. Especially from a personality standpoint.
