I think Cal lost some of his drive the last few seasons and did not seem to have as much energy and will to win as earlier in his career at UK. Having said that, I look for him to be rejuvenated for his first few seaons at Arkansas and do quite well. After that, who knows?

Our prayers and best wishes go out to former coach Mike Szabo and his family. He did a great job at Trinity.

Is there a date certain when schools can begin to sign players who have opted for the portal? If so, it would obviously be advantageous for UK to have a coach in place by that time. I assume UK is aware of this.

Looks like UK, UL,WKU and I think Morehead will all have new coaches next season. Which fanbase will end up being the happiest next March?

The man looks like he could go out and play 40 minutes right now. Maybe he will demand the same level of relative fitness from his players. There is no reason a team should not be in shape.

Junkie, how did this game turn out? Thanks.

Is May going to Michigan strike two for Josh Heird (sp)? I don't know how hard UL really pursued these two, if at all. I still think the UL job was, and soon can be again, a top 10 job in the country. But UL needs to be quick on its feet with conference re-alignments, NIL, etc

Jay has it way too good right now and would be crazy to sign up for the scrutiny of coaching at UK. Plus he's an East Coast guy. He'd be the first call I'd make if I was AD at UK. But you better have the next couple calls lined up because I think Wright says no pretty quickly.
I heard from a local lawyer that his wife is one of the best trial attorneys in the Philadelphia area. Thus, probably reluctant to relocate to Fayette County.

Sacred Heart finishes the season at 31-7 and no losses to any Kentucky teams now in 2 straight seasons. There last loss was to Mercy on Feb. 13th of the 2021-2022 season. They were led in scoring by Zakiya Johnson with 21 and Reagan Bender with 18. McCracken County finishes at 32-6 were led in scoring by Miss Basketball candidate Claire Johnson with 24 points and Mikee Buchanan had 19 in the loss.
If I am nor mistaken, Sacred Heart had to beat the #2 and #3 teams in the state to get the title. No cakewalk for them.

Don't believe there will be a running clock: one, if the margin gets large, T will rest their starters; two, T will show sportsmanship; and, three, T is probably not that much better to get to a running clock.

Otto Petty and Ron King from that 1969 squad starred for Florida State. Dave Cowens night have been on those FSU teams, too.

How many times have two teams from the same county played each other in the Sweet 16®?
See first post in "Louisville Central" thread for one instance.

I would love to see WKU make it.

SHA may be able to rest some of their starters.

Cronin seems too hot-headed to me....like he is out of control sometimes. I'd rather have someone else.

Granted, one year isn't enough to judge, but he may have bought himself a small amount of grace in the fact that hiring Brohm seems to be working out.
That being said, I tend to agree with @TheDeuce . You can't fail epically 2 times in a row on the departments marquee hire.
He has to keep disgruntled baseball coach Dan McDonnell happy, too.

Trinity scored 25 points in the first half......... and 52 in the second, many as a result of breaking Seneca's press. The Redhawks have some super quick players but T was just too strong, too deep and too balanced. For T it is on to Rupp Arena to play the winner of Region 12. Congrats to both Trinity and Seneca.

This was win no. 800 for Sacred Heart coach Donna Moir.

THe injury to Damone King is the story of this game.

Sounds like the Tigers did not come to play-------not that they lost but the margin.
