Final Regular Season LIT Ratings - Guess The Year
Jim Schue replied to colonel-fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
As was mentioned before, Lone Jack is in BellCo. If I'm not mistaken, Wayne Co. boys' hoops head coach Rodney Woods is from there. Wasn't the school out on 119? -
At the track, the taxes are part of the takeout. It's a lot higher on exotic pools than WPS bets.
-
Yup. No different than "the takeout" at the track.

Back in the day in rural Kentucky, there was an awful lot of folks who didn't see no need for no book 'larnin. Still a lot of them out there, just not as many as there used to be. I know adults who can't read or write. -

Unfortunately, work won't allow it unless it's a rainout day. -
I used to have an eBay problem. I don't do PayPal anymore. That cured the eBay problem.

For what it's worth, it feels amazing to have that much cash in your pocket. I wish I could say it happens on the regular.

They have a Fleet Foxes vibe to them, stylistically. This new album is different though from the first one, which was amazing. I've only listened to it twice all the way through, but I like. And I am a big Fleet Foxes fan. I need to go record-shopping and grab that new one. -
Jason Witten to retire? Join MNF.
Jim Schue replied to archangel's topic in National Football League (NFL)
I've enjoyed Witten for some time, and I can't stand the Starboys and I am at best lukewarm on UT. So that's saying something. I wish him well. -
Hmmm … I guess that makes sense. But I thought it was just like on Family Guy, where Quagmire just swipes his card down her crack.

The new Lord Huron record is quite good. -

I've been to jail before, many years ago. Nothing felt cool about it. -
I have no idea what Venmo is.

2019-2022 Approved Football Realignment

That's a long hike for Caverna for a district game. Seems like the KHSAA needs to revisit its 32-only policy for 1A. -

No clue. I'm sure someone has tried it, though. -
Babies in Kentucky born drug-addicted

An uncontrollable desire to have whatever is their drug of choice hit their system as quickly as possible. -
Saw a guy at Turfway Friday with the T-shirt. Loved it.

Transfers - Why does it bother you?

Intensely talented HS player who started at CovCath and ended up at Highlands. His eligibility during and after the fact of his amazing HS career was cause of much controversy on this board, significantly by folks from Bell Co., as they had a great team that year and gave Highlands all they wanted in the playoffs in an epic game. Highlands won state that year, but had to vacate several wins because of Mitchell's participation. I guess they eventually got restored, also a controversial point. Lots of lawyers and court costs involved. After an outstanding career at Ohio U., Mitchell played several years with the Panthers as a decent-to-good strong safety with a mean streak and a tough-guy rep. He was recently cut loose from the Steelers after a run I can at best call regrettable, with lots of stupid late-hit penalties and major mistakes as he launched hisself for what he hoped would be a career-ending hit on his opponent. He shoulda been outta the league 3 years ago. I do see this a lot as far as the bolded part. I don't necessarily agree with the rest of your post. Seen this happen a few times. -
I did pretty good for a change. Had the Oaks-Derby Double, a show ticket on the Oaks runner-up, two Derby exactas and had an across the board bet on Good Magic, which placed 2nd. First time I've cashed tickets on Derby in years. But I'm not sure I wasn't still drunk from yesterday's Derby party when I headed up to Turfway this afternoon. Whew. Great weekend.

I was not fortunate to have played HS FB, as my school didn't have it when I attended. So this is all observation. I have attended a game at Gallatin Co., though, about 5-6 years back. I'm glad they've got permanent lights. Trying to photograph under those generator-powered lights was a nightmare. Gallatin Co. Carroll Co. Owen Co. There was 113K at CD today. I thought I heard that was a record for Oaks. Last year was 110K if I remember it right.
